God, this fic is so incredibly emotional. It's about Harry, after the war feeling a bit lost, and finding "love." At first everything seems perfect, that he's found the perfect, loving partner, someone to love, who loves him, someone he can make a life with. But eventually all these illusions are broken, because Grayson Wenke, Harry's partner, shows his true self. Harry is subjected to all sorts of abuse and violations; physical, mental, verbal, unspeakable things Grayson does to him until Harry is nothing but filled with fear. And we can see that, how everything Harry is, is slowly chipped away until there's nothing but a ghost who lives to be someone's punching bag. It's so emotional, so heart-breaking, how alone he feels.

Eventually Harry learns he's pregnant, but Grayson wants to show the illusion of them being the perfect family, so he signs up a contract for a book with the Prophet, and the writer who'll document their life is one Draco Malfoy, who, thankfully sees more than Grayson wants to show, and is determined to help Harry.

There are strong warnings in this story, and are not to be taken lightly, because everything Harry goes through is truly terrible, but if you read it, go through all this with Harry, you'll see there's hope and the possibility of the happiest ending with someone who truly loves him and values him. :)

Title: A Year in the Life

Such a lovely, sweet story! It's about Harry and Draco getting together a bit late in life and unexpectedly expecting a baby, going through the different moments in the pregnancy and their children's reaction. Lovely.

Time!Travel fic, and it's awesome.

The story starts with Harry and Draco working on an ancient house, Draco, brilliant curse-breaking, can't undo an enchantment on a door, but it seems benigne, so Harry stepts through the door and next thing he knows, he wakes up in a different time, with a very naked Draco next to him, and a whole life which he knows nothing of.

It's sweet, because the more Harry sees of this life, the more he wants. Sweet and sexy.

This fic is bottom!Draco on screen, but it's heavily hinted of bottom!Harry, and off-screen mpreg!Harry. :)

Title: Baby It's You

This fic, it's just so, so good!

The story starts with Harry being on fertility potions, only his boyfriend (and Healer) didn't tell him that mixing them with alcohol would have a very particular side effect. And it's under these effects that he meets Draco, and the unexpected happens. Of course there are consequences, but do not despair. The story works beautifully.

It has a touch of angst, and a touch of fluff, beautiful moments, funny amazing parts and delicious, sexy smut that make this story one that you shouldn't miss. It's amazing.

Title: If I Had Waited Another Day

Based loosely on The Back-Up plan; Harry has always wanted a family, but when he can't find the right man at the age of thirty he decides to use a sperm donor. Then he meets Draco. From then on, it's a ride.

They have some of the hottest sex I've ever read (hung!Draco! And trust me, you have to read that) but then Draco returns to Italy where he lives, and by the time they start a relationship through letters Harry is already pregnant, and while Harry wanted to tell Draco about his situation, he never quite plucked the courage to do so, and when Draco comes back home to surprise Harry with a proposal, he found him heavily pregnant.

They go through a rough patch, but do not worry; everything turns out all right. In fact, everything turns out rather brilliant.

It's emotional, with misunderstandings, some hot (so hot!) sex and a lovely ending. What else can you ask, really?

Title: The Burning Times

This story is fantastic. (And sorry for what I think it's my longest rec yet. >.<)

It's the Wizarding world worst nightmare. The Muggles are aware of the Magical world's existence, and they are persecuting wizards and witches, keeping the them in prison, witches in camps and bounding their magic.

This fic tells three stories at the same time. No, it's not confusing, yes, it's incredible.

It tells how Harry and Draco got together, back when Voldemort was the threat, not the Muggles. It tells how their relationship was at first secret, and how Draco was a spy for the Order. It tells how these persecutions started, how the Muggles slowly starting killing and trapping wizards, binding their magic, and what happened to Draco while being in prison in a different country and how Harry went through this without him. And these two merge into the main story; Draco returning to England years after, finding the Wizarding World nearly extinct but for those few who have survived by hiding, unaware of everything Harry had suffered and realising how much he had, and all the struggles he endures, all he does until he finally frees Harry and the other prisoners who are barely alive in the Muggle prisons and camps.

It's almost stark, nearly a Dark story, but not because it's hopeless, but because it's so very dramatic, the persecutions of the Muggles, the abuse, mental, psychological and physical wizards and witches suffer is almost disturbing.

It's touching, it's so incredibly touching, the struggles, God, everything Harry and Draco went through, together and apart. Harry constant, growing dread about what's happening in the Wizarding world while the Muggles attack them, and Draco being away in prison, lost from the world, unaware of everything Harry and his world is going through. But I must stress, while there's plenty of Angst, and indeed, I'm tagging this entry as angst, it's not only angst. There are parts, many parts, that will make you smile, parts that will remind you how strong they are, and how together they can overcome anything.

Just like a tragic story, this fic, as it portrays everything the characters go through, it also shows you all these things that are worth going through hell and back, you know?

It's mainly told from Draco's POV, but it switches to others, which can be a bit distracting, but the story is so good even with that distraction.

There's only a bit of a downside, and this that the sequel From the Ashes is incomplete, and probably abandoned, as it hasn't been updated since 2009. But it's not that this fic ends in a cliffhanger, just, you would have liked to know more of their story. But it's really great. One of those epic stories you remember.

Oh, Also, while in this story they switch, it's mainly bottom!Harry.

Title: Normal Is the Watchword

This story is absolutely delightful. It's written from Jamie's POV. Not James Sirius Potter, but Jamie; Harry and Draco's son. Only he doesn't know at first Draco is his other dad. He met him at his first year at Hogwarts, when his magic started fluctuating, particurlarly in Draco's classroom.

But seriously, you're going to fall in love with his story, this kid, and through his eyes you're going to love Harry and Draco and his romantic ideas of bringing his fathers back together.

If after my last rec you need something to make you laugh and smile and cheer you up, this story is it. It's precious.

This is a really cool story. In which Harry learns that Magic sometimes makes dreams come true (literally), but it takes more than just wishing it, it has to be driven by a powerful connection, and even though he didn't know it, him and Draco had one. Ginny is pretty great on this story.

This story is about consequences. Consequences of not being completely honest, open with your partner, and consequences of not trusting your partner against all odds.

Harry and Draco were in a relationship, but it ends because of miscommunications. Harry is pregnant, but he doesn't even know, not until the baby is due, because male pregnancies are very nearly unheard of. But there's so much more to it, Harry's son falls ill, and the only person who can help him is Draco. And in doing so, Draco learns the truth, that Harry's son is his son, too.

It's beautiful, the angst is delicious and the ending feels like a new beginning. Lovely.

In some ways this story sort of reminds me of Bond (already recced here).

They find themselves in this situation in which their lives are tied and they are young, boys almost. Yes, they are both war wounded, and their have their scars, and their sorrows and regrets they carry on their shoulders, but they are also young, and they are trying to move on, to live the rest of their lives, too. And trying so very hard to do what's right and they want each other so much and still fighting against it because they don't know what to do at times.

Draco is serving his probation at Hogwarts and Harry is also back for his 8th year, but one night together changed their lives for ever.

There's strange magic at work on this story, too, and it gives it a dreamy quality to it.

I know it doesn't make a lot of sense (or does it?), but this story is touching, and beautiful and epic and if you haven't read it, you should, because Harry and Draco are amazing here.

Title: A Coalition of Family

This story is so funny, and so, SO good.

I love it when they are this oblivious they can't see what it's right there, and so they go through all these schemes and plots, both of them! What with the life-debts, and the "procedure" and oh, all that talking to the baby. Well just read it.

As it turned out, his traitorous cock didn't seem to mind. It introduced itself to Malfoy with a jaunty little pulse, puffed out its chest a bit, and said, "Charmed, I'm sure." Harry was mortified. His pent-up manly attraction for Malfoy was supposed to stay buried deep within his straight normative psyche, not stand at attention, sparkly flags waving.

But so many funny bits. Honestly! Definitely one of my faves Mpregs.
