This story is gorgeous! It's got one of my favourite tropes: Harry/Draco housemates! :) As the summary says, Grimmauld Place has been fighting Harry, it's not letting him into some rooms (oh god, the bathroom among other places) so Harry's looking for a housemate who has experience in generational wizarding homes. Enters Draco Malfoy (after a few other interviews that were hilarious btw), who is, of course, a perfect candidate.

And that's how Harry and Draco (and Draco's improbable exotic pet!!!) start living together. At first the house starts behaving just with Draco's presence but the problem is, the problem for Harry is that Draco's never around, you know? Where does he go? ;) So he demands that Draco starts giving him lessons in how to grace himself to his house. Naturally sparks start to fly, but it's a bit complicated because they are living together, though that doesn't quite stop them, but then Draco's not ready to have the sort of relationship Harry wants to have—and there's the mystery of where Draco spends all his time when he's not in the house.

There are so many beautiful interactions, the characterisations are awesome, Ron is fantastic, but there's also Luna and Ginny and Pansy and Hermione and Gregg, the exotic pets I mentioned, Harry and Draco's growing feelings for each other, Grimmauld Place slowly accepting Harry, it's an incredible story! :)

This story is fantastic. Seriously. It's incredibly touching and beautiful. As the summary says, Harry is injured during an Auror raid and now the life he loved, the life he enjoyed, the life he dreamt for himself is no longer possible, at least that's what he thinks.

He sinks in to a deep depression and Hermione, desperate to help, seeks Draco, who is now a Healer with also a Muggle degree who specialises in physiotherapy, and he's the best, so really, it is Harry's best and last chance.

Harry doesn't take this news -- that Draco is his new doctor and will be moving in for the duration of his treatment -- very well. Well, that's an understatement. But really, Draco is the best, and soon Harry's progress start to show and little by little they work together, toward maybe giving Harry his life back, to Harry finding himself again.

But of course isn't easy, because it's them, they have a whole history and they fall in love, which is, at the same time amazing and complicated.

It's truly a journey, not just Harry's physical recovery, but also realising he can be and is loved, that he doesn't have to do things alone, that people want to be there for him and it's OK to let them, to forgive them and most important to forgive himself. And Draco, falling in love with this amazing man and being scared of what it means, afraid of all the unethical reasons why their relationship might not work. It's gorgeous, really.

He’s just had to leave a job he loves and pack his entire life—literally—into his luggage. Then Malfoy and his subplots arrive, and suddenly, saving the world again, one Mermaid at a time, sounds like the perfect excuse to do something he’s always wanted.

This fic is super interesting! It's about how Muggles have been contaminating the waters and basically destroying the Merepeople's habitat.

Harry and Draco come into the picture because, both, blackmailed by the Miniter for Magic, are asked to go to USA to fix the problem. Draco is a Potions Master and Harry is a field chemist who especialices in water.

In the meantime we get to learn a few things about Harry and Draco. A) Harry and Draco had been friendly for quite a while back home. Harry often visiting Draco at Hogwarts where he teaches Potions, thing that stopped once Harry realised he had feelings for Draco, and B) That, related to A, Harry's been pining for Draco for years, basically. :D

The plot is very clever, we get to see everything they do to save the Mers (Harry and Draco each brought a team with them), and try to discover why the Minister wanted them (Harry & Draco) out of the picture back home, there are also some pretty brilliant interaction between Harry and Draco, the team, Draco's American cousin (who is super, too!).

Title: Weeds or Wildflowers

Summary: A perfect match, a romance for the ages, with a one hundred percent success rate! Magic Match claims they can give Draco all of this. So why do they keep sending him on dates with Harry Potter?

Oh my god, this fic is so amazing, I kid you not!

We have Harry and Draco trying this matchmaking service and they are stuck with being set up with each other, over and over and over again even though Draco's doing everything in his power to avoid Harry. :D It's a Magical Matching system, which is the best thing ever, basically. :D

Anyway, so they go on dates and at first is super awkward (and brilliant!) but then all this tension makes itself known – and by 'tension' I mean all the UST!! Until it's undeniable.

Butt here's also all these gorgeous characterisation of both Harry and Draco; Draco is complex and amazing and drives Harry crazy, and Harry's charming and honest and so effing sexy, Draco can't resist him.

Awesome, fun and sexy and very moving, too. :)

Title: Newts

Oh, man, this story is so much fun! Harry is trying to take office in the Department of Magical Enforcement, and he's only finding bumps in the way, until it seems he finally will, when someone re-discovers a law that says that any person to be appointed as such needs to have finished his schooling at Hogwarts securing a good opinion of their instructors.

Which means Harry has to go back to Hogwarts, which wouldn't be too bad, really, only the new Potions professor is one Draco Malfoy, and Draco Malfoy will do what he does best. Er, make Harry's life a living hell and sabotage his potions. Oh, and of course, there's all the illicit fucking going around because, of course, somehow Harry makes him think he's seducing him for a good grade.

It's insane and fun and awesome. But there's more, there's the whole problem about the people stopping Harry from taking office, and why, and why Draco is helping them. But trust me, the end is most satisfactory for everyone involved, except perhaps McGonagall. :D

Title: Heartsight

This is a completely loveable story in which Draco gets a mysterious package that contains a mysterious Potion. Harry Potter, being the Potions Master at Hogwarts is more than ready to help a fellow colleague.

The thing is, during all the time they've been working together (Draco is History of Magic teacher) he's always held Harry at arm's length for very important reasons (!!!!), but now, spending this time together, well, wonderful things happen. :)

Title: Where's Granger When You Need Her?

This fic is just so much fun. Indeed, as the summary says Draco's been working an experimental Potion – an animagus potion! Only it is a bit unstable, and well, it explodes. On him. And turns him into something. :D Something he's not very proud of, but he's really very cute. Anyway, in such state though he need someone to help him brew the antidote, right? And after much deliberation he figures the Flying Instructor is his best bet. So off he goes to find one Harry Potter.

And boy, does he find him. Trust me, you want to read exactly what he finds Harry does. And his reaction. But really, the whole story is super funny and entertaining. :D

Title: Leaves of Memory

Such a touching, lovely story.

It's about the new generation, how they don't know, how they don't understand about the war, and how McGonagall thinks it's time for them to learn and see what it was like through the memories of those who lived the war during a summer.

Amidst this Harry's going through a very difficult time, it's not only his divorce; it's the way Lily took it after she saw Harry with someone else. And then there's Draco, who is the creator of the spell that will show the memories, and more than that, will help Harry in this moment in his life. It's amazing.

Title: A Touch of Silk

This story is so much fun, and so sexy.

It's as the summary says, Harry won a bet, and now Draco has to serve him tea while wearing a dress. However, it's not as amusing as Harry's thinking. You see, he couldn't have predicted the effect this whole thing was going to have on him. Or on Draco. It's delicious, and so much fun, to see Harry squirming on his chair while Draco looks so damn composed. So yes, lots of fun, but super hot.

Oh, my god. You have to read this story. It's amazing!

It all starts with Draco always winding up at Harry's house. It's a curse, actually. Like, he tries to Floo to the Ministry for work, he ends up at Harry's place. He tries to fly to the Ministry, he ends up in Harry's yard. He tries to take the Knight Bus, he ends up at Harry's doorstep. And so on and so forth. He's only able to leave Harry's place at all if he's with Harry, which is all kinds of awesome.

And from then on, it only gets better. It's funny, there's UST by the buckets, and it's got lovely character development and Harry is hot as hell. Honestly, what are you waiting for? Read! :D

Title: The Mystery of the Dead Man's Curse

This story is a joy to read. It's written from Harry's POV and his characterisation is a darling.

Professor McGonagall asked Harry for help because apparently the curse Voldemort put on the Defence Against the Dark Arts post is still in place and she hasn't able to keep a teacher for more than one term, so Harry is to go back to Hogwarts as the new teacher, and at the same time figure out and lift the curse on the position.

What Harry doesn't know though, it's that Draco is the Hogwarts Librarian after Madam Pince's retirement.

I loved how they started getting to know each other, how proper and polite they were with the other, until Harry realised just exactly how hopelessly smitten he was with this new Draco.

This is Harry how I love him; shy and a little awkward and clueless, stubborn but always honest.

Title: All Life is Yours to Miss

Summary: Professor Malfoy's world is contained, controlled, and as solitary as he can make it, but when an act of petty revenge goes horribly awry, he and his trusty six-legged friend are thrown into Hogwarts life at the deep end and must learn to live, love and let go.


This story is amazing. It's got Harry and Draco as teachers at Hogwarts. It starts with Harry playing a prank on Draco, turning his eyebrows red, Gryffindor red, in retaliation Draco plays another one on Harry, but this one goes horribly wrong combined with another spell, which leaves Harry immobilised for months. Sort of like a Petrificus Totalus, if you will, and so Draco has to take over Harry's responsibilities, classes and extra obligations.

It's truly amazing, because even though Harry spends much of the story immobile, we get to see Draco change, we learn his frustrations, his vulnerabilities, but we also see him grow, open himself to life and live it, really live it. He visits Harry constantly, he talks him, it's easier while Harry is quiet and still, and Draco, behind this safety of Harry's motionless and silent form, he sort of lets himself go, he talks about his life and fears and new experiences while taking over Harry's duties, but never forgetting about that silent person whom he know is listening.

He falls in love, not just with the idea of Harry he has, because he has got to know Harry as well, as impossible as it sounds he does get to know him, because now that Harry is laying on a bed, motionless it's like Draco can truly see him, beyond all the noise and preconceptions, you know? And when Harry wakes up, their whole dynamic, their relationship, is different. It's fond and full of admiration, and damn it if it's not the sweetest prelude to the love story that it unfolds.

It's very rich in characters and details and scenes that will steal your heart. It's absolutely brilliant. And you're going to love Stanley (Draco's beetle pet) and much as you'll love Harry and Draco.

Title: Only For The Lucky

But when Malfoy is rushed into St Mungos for a psychotic break, Healer-trainee Harry Potter realizes that Malfoy's success is not all what it seems and sometimes luck can have more than one meaning.

This is a lovely story. Draco is a potions' addict, Felix Felicis, of all things, and Harry, Healer in training, is working at St. Mungos, and during his rotation on the addicts' ward, he'll be in charge of Draco's rehabilitation.

This is Draco painful journey to recovery, from his denial to even having a problem to his sad acceptance and finally admitting he needs help. And Harry is there for him, in every step of the way, willing Draco to see he is more than the sum of his mistakes, offering him a second chance.

But it's funny and sweet too, because even though they bicker all the time, they find relief in one another, they truly get to know each other. Draco's vulnerable moments are amazing, and Harry clumsy as he is at these emotional times, always knows what to tell him, how to comfort him.

Lovely and very emotional.

Title: Transfigurations

I think I must be the last person on the fandom to have read this story. I honestly can't remember why I haven't before, it's so good!

This story was written before Order of the Phoenix came out, but you'll be surprised how little differences to canon it has. The main ones, I think, are how some characters died, and that Draco was a spy for the Order.

Harry has this angst-ridden attitude, he left the wizarding world right after the war, and now, five years later he's come back to help to re-open Hogwarts. But while doing so they discover Hogwarts is filled with magical mines, targeted to specific people as well as general population, and to "dismantle" these mines, well, it's a huge collective effort, and Harry and Draco are paired to work together.

Draco is incredibly clever here, I really love his superior-yet-(sort of)-friendly attitude, he keeps getting to Harry, pushing and pressing him. The smut is amazingly hot, the intricate twists the plot takes are unbelievable, really (in a good way) and all through this Harry, very slowly, starts to see Draco differently, he's ready to face his fears, the loss of the people he left behind, and his own pain which he's been bottling up for years.

It's outstanding, this story. If you haven't read it, you should read it now. You won't regret it.

Title: Normal Is the Watchword

This story is absolutely delightful. It's written from Jamie's POV. Not James Sirius Potter, but Jamie; Harry and Draco's son. Only he doesn't know at first Draco is his other dad. He met him at his first year at Hogwarts, when his magic started fluctuating, particurlarly in Draco's classroom.

But seriously, you're going to fall in love with his story, this kid, and through his eyes you're going to love Harry and Draco and his romantic ideas of bringing his fathers back together.

If after my last rec you need something to make you laugh and smile and cheer you up, this story is it. It's precious.
