This is such a wonderful, wonderful story! :D It's an AU, in which Draco befriends the Golden Trio in first year: back when Quirrel set the troll lose he goes to warn Hermione of it but instead he ends up trapped with her in the bathroom. Then the whole, "There are some things you can’t share without ending up liking each other, and knocking out a twelve-foot mountain troll is one of them" includes him. :)

And so we see them being friendly, a bit of how they are together, their interactions but most of all we see them in 8th Year, Post War, with Draco having all these feelings for Harry, and god, their friendship, along with Ron and Hermione's is truly brilliant. Seeing him insecure about coming out, more so about ever confessing his feelings for Harry. Trust me, this story will leave you with a big smile on your face. :D

Oh god, this a hilarious story in which Lucius is a VERY dotting father, and after being witness to Draco's failure in finding the right person (literally witness!), he decides to get the person Draco wants: Harry Potter.

Only Harry also has a very protective and dotting father (and friends), who first must be dealt with. It's every bit of crazy fun as you're imagining. :)

Title: All the Important Words Unspoken

This fic is utterly delightful. 73K that just flew by as I read them. :) It starts when Draco comes back to England after living for the last few years in Geneva because her mum and Mrs Greengrass have come to the agreement is quite right time their children get married and they indeed make a great match.

Of course, Astoria and Draco themselves are not very pleased with this decision, and after a slightly off first meeting they finally agree they need to thwart their mothers and for this they have a plan. As Draco is not likely to ever be interested in another woman, they decide to find a better prospect for Astoria. (Charlie Weasley! Who is awesome, by the way.)

At the same time, when Harry and Hermione learn that these two are forced to married they come with their own plan to help them, and their plan is basically to keep them busy. So Hermione, Head of the Magical Law Enforcement Department offers Astoria a Muggle Legal Liaison position, since Astoria is such a spirited activist for Muggle Women's rights. As for Draco, Draco will work along with Harry, Head Auror, in crime scenes and gathering evidence for scientific analysis.

And as all this happens, we see Astoria fighting for Muggle Women's rights and welfare and Harry and Draco investigating an international smuggling ring.

It's really, really entertaining, the characterisations of - oh damn, everybody! - are brilliant, and seeing Harry and Draco ~discovering each other is wonderful. And Victorian Era AU, which just makes the whole thing extra charming. It's lovely.

Title: War is Over or here at AO3

This fic it's just, oh, so touching. :)

It starts when Snape, in order to protect Draco and save him from his mission to kill Dumbledore, he Porkeys him far away and Draco ends up alone in a tent away from everything magical. However, a few months later more Slytherins, also protected by Snape, are sent to the tent with the promise that Snape will come back for them when the war is over.

It's years and years after though, and they still waiting for Snape, until one day someone shows up. It's not Snape, it's the Aurors, Harry among them, and soon Draco and the rest learn the war's been over for years.

There's more to it though, because we get to see flashbacks of a moment Draco had with Harry and also learn what happens now that Harry is protecting Draco. Very sweet and touching. Lovely ending.

Title: Not Through With You

I mentioned Snowgall how memory loss is one of my favourite tropes, and she shared several links with me. This is one of those stories, and it was wonderful.

This story is an AU in the sense that it takes place during the war, and Draco is a spy for the Order.

When it's time to report after a mission from the Dark Lord, he goes to Grimmauld Place and stays for a few days. Only this time he starts having visions and dreams about him and Harry being together, so he tries to avoid Harry, Harry who is a bit unavoidable, actually.

We soon learn that these visions and dreams he's been having might be more. It's wonderful, how hard this is for Draco, how lonely he is and how he uses insults as defense mechanism. It's very hot, and the ending is surprisingly sweet.

This fic is bottom!Harry, but there's very mild imply switching, though nothing on-screen.

Title: Chaos Theory

This story is so, so amazing.

It's AU, Ravenclaw!Draco, genius!Draco (and if you're anything like me, you're going to fall in love with him and his mind), in which he changes history as we know it when in first year it's him two ventures past the locked door in the third floor. He meets Harry, but even before he realises he's met him, he feels such a fierce protectiveness towards Harry, which is amazing.

Harry becomes Draco's first friend, and seeing this happening; their friendship turning into something so much more it's so sweet and so lovely. There are all these beautiful moments, there's UST but it's so much more than that, it's about love, you know?

There's mentor!Snape (to both Harry and Draco), but there's also danger coming, because Voldemort is coming back, that's no different, in fact, it's more terrible than ever.

I'm going to cut here in case you want to read it without knowing a little more.

Draco does incredible things to protect Harry, and it's while trying to save him that he's trapped and tortured when he takes Harry's place in the Thrid Task in the Triwizard Tournament.

I know some of these tags and warnings [in the fic] can be scary, but it's such a great story. Something to note is that the ~scary part~ doesn't begin until roughly half the story, and when it's about to start, you're warned, and if you want to skip it, the author has written a guide of what happens during the harder-to-read chapters and tells you in which chapter you can keep reading without having missed anything relevant to the plot, however, after having read it, I can tell you that the gory parts, the torture parts, aren't really that long, as in, while Draco spends part of the time under the Imperius, the graphic descriptions of the torture (and all he's forced to do) doesn't expand to the rest of the story, only a few chapters.

It's really a story of love and sacrifices, at times it's hard to read (previously mentioned) but the ending is so beautiful, it's worth it. Brilliant.

Title: It Started in the Shower Series

This series starts as one hot (smoking hot) PWP and then it becomes so much more. Oh, so much more!

The story starts with Harry (and Ron and Hermione) on the run, hiding at Gimmauld Place, which is where Harry finds Draco showering, and he simply can't resist him. He just can't. There's delicious smut, so much dirty talking! Actually, there's dirty talking all through the fic. :D

But like I said, it becomes so much more. Here, a spoiler tag, in case you just want to go ahead and be surprised.

Anyway! Things start turning serious because the effect Draco has on Harry is apparently not natural, but induced, and this effect is magnified by the Horcrux Harry has inside him. But there are many questions to be answered yet; is it only the Horcrux making Harry feel the way he feels about Draco? Is Draco affected in any way or does he simply yield to Harry by his own free will? What will Harry do when he learns all of this?


It's really exciting figuring all this, to see them go in this emotional ride while fighting a war. At times it's devastating for both of them, but it's pretty damn amazing, too, finding the answers, and hot, god, this fic is hot!

Title: Just Like Heaven

Based on the movie Just Like Heaven, this fic is a darling.

We have Draco here, who never went to Hogwarts, and after living abroad he comes back to a great job oportinuty, only people aren't as forgiving of his Death Eater father, and Draco is attacked. Then we meet Harry, having suffered from a loss, he needs to start over in a way, and in doing so he moves to a new home, a lovely little house, which he loves, only, this house comes with a not-quite-ghotst who keeps throwing him out. Only they start talking and yeah, I won't say anything else because I'd spoil it even more, but it's lovely and sweet, this fic. :D

Title: Put a Price on My Soul

I love a good Dark Fic, and this was is great. It's a Voldemort wins AU, in which Harry ends up as a whore in a brothel, and this story starts when Malfoy is the new pimp in charge.

And while Draco improves Harry's living's conditions, his clients only get more vicious, yet he gives Harry something he hasn't had since he landed there; a bit of happiness. And with old friends, it comes hope.

It's really heart-aching though, Harry's life in the brothel, the abuse from his clients, the bleakness of his days until Draco shows at the end day.

Title: And I Know the Spark

I love AUs, this a really great (and angsty!) Hogwarts Era Au, in which Harry and Draco got together in 6th year, until Draco decides to become a spy for the Order so he can protect Harry, only he does it without telling Harry because he knows Harry would stop him, and the only way Harry would leave him is hurt him badly. It happens though, and then when Harry is taken prisoner at Malfoy Manor is up to Draco to save him.

It's hurts, everything Draco goes through while he's trying to protect Harry, knowing Harry thinks the worst of him, it's painful, but it's got a great ending. Lovely story, full of pain, but there's hope, too.

Title: Annus Mirabilis

This is such an amazing story.

It's like the summary says, Harry and Draco are trapped in the past at the Founders Era, with only each other for company. They have to figure out how they got there and find a way to get back to their present, but as time passes by their relationship changes, it turns less antagonistic until they realise somewhere along the way they've come to appreciate each other's company, they become friends, they become a lot more than that. The pace is lovely, too, nothing rushed, but it simply evolves into more.

And then there's the settling of the story in the Founders Era, their interactions with all four of them, the huge differences from Harry and Draco's real time and how they have to adjust and adapt to this time feel so real.

I'm not going to spoil it for you and tell you how it ends, just know it's a great story.

I think this is the first time I read a character death story and it leaves me with a huge smile on my face and makes me feel everything is right in the world, leave me with such a sense of peace.

I'm always wary of reading these "Voldemort Wins" scenarios, but this story is so beautiful, it's probably like nothing you're expecting. It's filled with such a sense of hope rather than despair all through it you will feel it in your heart.

You can't quite know it from the warnings and the summary, but this story is not about death, it's about hope and life and the future, it's a story about love that goes beyond mortality.

The summary gives you a very good idea of what the plot of the fic is about, but the writing that brings it to life has so much feeling, beautiful in its intensity and so sexy and lovely that you'll meet two people who bring the best in each other, the best of their humanity. Let this story surprise you, people. It's gorgeous.

This story is fantastic. (And sorry for what I think it's my longest rec yet. >.<)

It's the Wizarding world worst nightmare. The Muggles are aware of the Magical world's existence, and they are persecuting wizards and witches, keeping the them in prison, witches in camps and bounding their magic.

This fic tells three stories at the same time. No, it's not confusing, yes, it's incredible.

It tells how Harry and Draco got together, back when Voldemort was the threat, not the Muggles. It tells how their relationship was at first secret, and how Draco was a spy for the Order. It tells how these persecutions started, how the Muggles slowly starting killing and trapping wizards, binding their magic, and what happened to Draco while being in prison in a different country and how Harry went through this without him. And these two merge into the main story; Draco returning to England years after, finding the Wizarding World nearly extinct but for those few who have survived by hiding, unaware of everything Harry had suffered and realising how much he had, and all the struggles he endures, all he does until he finally frees Harry and the other prisoners who are barely alive in the Muggle prisons and camps.

It's almost stark, nearly a Dark story, but not because it's hopeless, but because it's so very dramatic, the persecutions of the Muggles, the abuse, mental, psychological and physical wizards and witches suffer is almost disturbing.

It's touching, it's so incredibly touching, the struggles, God, everything Harry and Draco went through, together and apart. Harry constant, growing dread about what's happening in the Wizarding world while the Muggles attack them, and Draco being away in prison, lost from the world, unaware of everything Harry and his world is going through. But I must stress, while there's plenty of Angst, and indeed, I'm tagging this entry as angst, it's not only angst. There are parts, many parts, that will make you smile, parts that will remind you how strong they are, and how together they can overcome anything.

Just like a tragic story, this fic, as it portrays everything the characters go through, it also shows you all these things that are worth going through hell and back, you know?

It's mainly told from Draco's POV, but it switches to others, which can be a bit distracting, but the story is so good even with that distraction.

There's only a bit of a downside, and this that the sequel From the Ashes is incomplete, and probably abandoned, as it hasn't been updated since 2009. But it's not that this fic ends in a cliffhanger, just, you would have liked to know more of their story. But it's really great. One of those epic stories you remember.

Oh, Also, while in this story they switch, it's mainly bottom!Harry.

Title: A Gentleman's Gentleman

I really enjoyed this story. I just love it when Harry or Draco is working for the other. In this fic, Draco, whose family left England for many years, returns to London and becomes Harry's valet. Harry, an orphan, has very recently inherited his 'Lord' title, along with his fortune from a long lost relative, which coincidentally would have been Draco's had he not been missing.

It's placed in the 1900s in London, and one of the things I loved the most about it, it's the writing; it really transports you back to that time, the language used is very formal and even candid, and it fits perfectly with this setting.

Draco as Harry's valet is priceless, not only because he's so properly and composed all the time, but also because of his gentle guidance Harry feels more comfortable with his new title and the life he has now. And their conversations and observations they fall in love, a love not completely accepted in that society, but they will fight for it.

It's a charming love story.

Title: Plus One, and Only

When Harry eventually says yes, Draco rejoices, but as he spends a week with the man by his side, and as they learn more about each other, Draco realises his love for the groom is slowly disappearing.

An adaptation from the movie The Wedding Date, this fic is very entertaining. Draco hires Harry to be his escort to his ex-boyfriend's weddings. But half way through the wedding celebration, which takes several days, he finds himself more smitten with his Plus One, than with the groom. And Harry, a smitten kitten himself, is keeping all sorts of secrets.

And there are all sorts of misunderstandings and shenanigans. A very enjoyable read.
