As the summary says, this is a remix – a prequel, actually, of If the Sun Goes Black by pasdexcuses (PG-13, 23K) which I recced it here.

In that story we see Harry waking up with no memory of the last couple years of his life, finding out he's in a relationship with Draco Malfoy, living together and apparently quite happy. It's more than that though, because he soon realises there's something weird happening with Draco.

In this fic we learn how the two of them started living together, we see exactly the reason, he see everything Draco went through, the curse he's suffering (Draco's been cursed!) and how Harry is helping him.

I know it sounds a bit confusing, but let me tell you, this story is amazing. Draco's characterisation is so rich and touching, and the whole story is filled with details, it's pretty brilliant. Harry is pretty brilliant, too. We see them developing feelings for each other, see how those feelings sort of sneak up on them, and there's the whole thing with the curse on the other hand, super intriguing.

Like I said, this story is a prequel, but I actually suggest you read If the Sun Goes Black first and then this one. Not going to regret it at all. :D

Title: Yours is the Earth (Hold On, Hold On)

At first, Harry credits this to a new enthusiasm for life. But as the days pass and Draco's behavior becomes more and more mysterious, Harry begins to suspect that something bigger--and darker--is at work.

This story, kind of tells two stories at once. It's starts with an accident in which Draco nearly dies. We see Harry suffering, seeing his lover of two years seizing and convulsing without being able to do a thing. But miraculously Draco survives, only, it's not that simple; something claimed him, a Creature is in control of his body and now he's not really himself. He now only lives in a small part of his mind, and he'll do anything to protect Harry because he soon realises this creature that lives in him has no mercy.

At the same time, we see how Harry and Draco met for the first time six years after the war when Draco, Potions Expert gives the Auror Department a lecture. Harry's reactions when he sees him, God, those are gorgeous. You see, Harry is obsessed, and not in the usual way, he's determined to find out what Draco is up to, but Draco is not up to anything. Draco's just Draco, he has issues, social anxiety and once Harry starts seeing this different part of Draco, well, he can't help himself. He wants. And this is how we see the beginning of their relationship.

It's amazing, those first weeks of Harry being absolutely obsessed with Draco are awesome, see this thing they start having become something else, how they built their relationship. And at the same time we see and live Draco's anguish at not having control of his body, at trying to fight the Creature without putting Harry in danger, hoping Harry will realise this Draco is not really him, the ending, after everything they've gone through, worth it.

Also, this story is mainly bottom!Draco. There's some switching though! ^^

Title: We Are Legend or at AO3

I think this is the first time I read a character death story and it leaves me with a huge smile on my face and makes me feel everything is right in the world, leave me with such a sense of peace.

I'm always wary of reading these "Voldemort Wins" scenarios, but this story is so beautiful, it's probably like nothing you're expecting. It's filled with such a sense of hope rather than despair all through it you will feel it in your heart.

You can't quite know it from the warnings and the summary, but this story is not about death, it's about hope and life and the future, it's a story about love that goes beyond mortality.

The summary gives you a very good idea of what the plot of the fic is about, but the writing that brings it to life has so much feeling, beautiful in its intensity and so sexy and lovely that you'll meet two people who bring the best in each other, the best of their humanity. Let this story surprise you, people. It's gorgeous.

Title: Gold Tinted Spectacles

I must be the last person on this ship to have read this story, but then again, I haven't yet read Irresistible Poison (what's wrong with me?).

In this story Harry is a Hecatemus, a magical creature that can see raw magic, and Draco is his soul mate, who will keep Harry grounded. Something like that. It's really deep and inventive, the way Harry needs Draco, and Draco needs him.

And the core of the fic is this bond they share, how they connect in such a deep way. Beyond the fact that they can feel what the other is feeling, and they can read each other's minds, they share a live, because they can't survive being away from the other. It's beautiful, creative and so very touching. You've probably have read it already, so I needn't to go into details. It's a lovely story.

Title: Chains Of Earth

Summary: Draco is kidnapped and forced to make a choice between taking his own life or becoming something less than human. Of course, he makes the right decision. Enter Harry, who discovers he has a bit of a thing for wings.


This is a fantastic creature fic. It has so many twists and turns that it just keeps surprising you.

There's a lot of character development, not just Harry and Draco, but so many that are integral part of the story. Hermione really is amazing here. The Weasleys, all of them will surprise you.

I loved it because among many things, it doesn't rush into the action, there's a lot of research and a lot of buildup, that when the end is coming you're sitting at the edge of your seat.

I also love the way it ends, it really wraps the story in a most satisfying manner. It's quite incredible.

Title: Angels and Devils

This a super interesting story about magical creatures. God, the creativity of this writer, the whole lore thing that she's built on this creatures is fantastic.

I love it because it's sexy without being graphic, I love that Harry and Draco, though magical creatures they are, they remain themselves. I love the chasing, Harry for Draco, and I love Draco letting himself finally be caught.

Title: The Corruption Sequence

I know, it's a lot to read, but trust me, once you start you're not going anywhere until you finish this series. It's that good.

I don't know how to start to go on about his story. Harry is captured by the Dark Lord and turned into the Darkest Creatures you can imagine.

Voldemort merges Harry's core with all sorts of Dark Creatures; vampires, veelas, dementors, werewolves, incubus, basilisk. Many more, I reckon at the end they were like 17 dark creatures inside Harry, but as impossible as that sound, on this story just works.

And guess who saves Harry when nobody else would, or could? Draco. The thing is, Draco doesn't just save Harry, he saves him in a way that he helps Harry realise that he's still Harry at the core.

And Harry saves Draco when he would have attacked anyone else. They are bonded, in a way. It's never quite clear how that happens, but they are together. Draco satiates Harry's hungers, all of them. He's possessive of Draco, and Draco gives himself to Harry in a way that is surrender without being submissive. I'm not sure if that makes sense.

This story is incredibly hot, too. God, they way they are so hungry for each other it's delicious.
