Before I get into the why, I need to warn you about this fic: It's going to own your life from the moment you start until the moment you finish it. I think it might have a charm on it that you simply can't stop reading it.

This is story is about what could have been.

Harry's always wondered what would happened if after the Sectumsempra he would have go to Draco and offered his help, talked to him. It's one of his biggest regrets. When he hears from Albus that Draco is getting divorced he wonders again, and he meets a strange old man who gives him a "glimpse", and suddenly he's transported (sort of) to a different world where he did talk to Draco, and as a result of this everything changed. Harry and Draco are together on this reality, they have been for many, many years, they are happy, people who died is alive, and while many things remain the same, his life is completely different, and he's amazed to discover, this might be for the better, in some regards, obviously. However, it's only a glimpse, and there comes the moment in which he has to go back to his real life. But his life vision and perceptions are not the same now. What changes will it truly bring, well, this is what we're going to find out.

And it's painful to see him coming back to his "real life", because he's fallen in love with his 'what could have been' life, with his Draco, with those men he and Draco could have been, even with Maura, Ginny and Blaise's daughter, who doesn't exist in this life but was the only person who ever knew he wasn't his real 'uncle Harry' and became a confidant while he lived that life.

This story is rich. It's rich in emotions, it's rich in characters and characterisation, it's rich in descriptions, it's rich in the attention to detail; all these scenes that were thoughtfully, lovely constructed and cared for to make part of a beautiful tale that is while it is about "What Ifs" it's also about the power you have over your own life, the power over settling for something that is okay or if you'll go for that something that will make it extraordinary.

It's an outstanding story that you can't miss.

Title: Back From the Edge

This is a hurt/comfort story, and it's very emotional. The prose is really amazing, but what I love the most about it, even though it's mostly Draco-centric, it's Harry who stole my heart. I mean, my heart ached for Draco, the descriptions of how he feels and his struggle are so very touching, but there's Harry's calm perseverance and maturity that is just gorgeous.

Title: All That Remains

This is one of the most touching stories I've ever read.

In a world devastated after the war, the Drain of Magic, and magical epidemics, Draco is a Social Worker. Harry simply went missing, after a ritual that would help to destroy Voldemort, but caused countless deaths and drained of magic to all witches and wizards.

I simply can't describe how dramatic this fic is. It's going to grip your heart from the very beginning, and it's going to squeeze it little by little until you feel it's going to break. But it's such a gorgeous story, finding comfort under these circumstances, and from the most unlikely sources. It has a beautiful, hopeful ending.

Title: Unwed Wizard: Capture the Dragon

This fic is so very sweet. This is the wizarding version of The Bachelor, I think. In which Draco is the Bachelor, and Harry is one of the contestants. It's got the perfect balance of romance and humour, and a bit of hurt/comfort as well. It's lovely and gentle, and loads of fun challenges, with Harry who has a very big disadvantage, but makes it up in spades in other ways. Portrait!Snape makes several appearances, and amazingly enough, all to help Harry!

Loads of fun.

Title: Life Debt Number What?

Though I guess his treatment doesn't consist on staying with him all the time, talking to him, pouring his heart to Harry, actually, but he does it anyway. And he won't rest until Harry is recovered. Somewhere along the way though, it becomes more than just 'repaying' a life debt to Harry. So much more...

Title: Icarus Rising

Draco is a Veela, but in his transformation he has lost his memories and his identity. He only recognises Harry, without knowing he's Harry, but as his mate. He protects him, and saves him from Voldemort, enabling Harry to finally destroy him.

But now that battles have been won, what will it be of Draco? This Draco who is not himself any more? How can Harry help him?

This is that story.

This fic was written before HBP, so it follows OotP cannon. It also has an Mpreg sequel: Icarus Rising Easter Egg (PG, 3,500 words).

Title: Another Country

Summary: Brain-damaged by a Dark curse, Harry is seeing auras that no one else can see and visions that don't come true and speaking Latin instead of English. The Healers want him to go back to normal. Draco Malfoy thinks his future should be different from his past.


This is yet another well-plotted story by this author that will take you inside the mind of a Harry Potter that no one but Draco understands.

This is figural and literal, because he was damaged by a curse, which makes Harry speaks Latin and no longer English, though it's more than just that. It's about self-discovery and self-acceptance, of who he used to be and who he is now.

Title: The Lip-Lock Jinx

Summary: The Lip-Lock Jinx, a jinx that renders the victim mute that can only be undone in two ways: if the caster reverses the spell on the victim, or if the victim serves the purpose of the jinx and kisses the person that they desire. It's just Harry's luck that he gets jinxed by Ginny Weasley and that he's in love with Draco Malfoy.


Ginny's put Harry a jinx, and he won't be able to speak at all, until he kisses the person he fancies, the problem is that, he fancies a boy, a Slytherin boy with blond hair who hates him. But that's not all! Now that Harry can't talk, him and Draco are starting to be friends, and he doesn't want to ruin it by, well, kissing him and getting punched in the face.

I love the pace of the story, because it doesn't rushes to an end, or drags the plot endlessly, it's just right. I love the progression of their friendship, the building attraction in both of them.

It's fun and light to read, and perfect to cheer yourself up with. Oh, and it has some lovely art as well!

Title: Patience is Its Own Reward

Short and sweet, with the premise of Harry being hurt and Draco being his Healer, taking care of him.

Super cute.

Title: And We Are At Our Apogee

Summary: Harry doesn't remember and Draco wants revenge, but it doesn't really work out that way.


This story has this very fascinating concept, in which the one seeking revenge is falling into the trap of his own making; he's gone and fallen in love with the person whom he swore revenge against.

He's got Harry now, with no memories of his previous life, and now he is the one living in fear that Harry one day will remember and leave him.

Harry leaves the bed before Draco wakes, goes to let the waves of too cold ocean water slap his feet too early in the morning. Draco only has a second or two where all he can think is, oh, oh Merlin, this is it, isn’t it? But then he’ll breathe and the salt of the ocean is thick in the air, the crashing of waves is just that too loud, because Harry always opens the window first thing in the morning. The bed is just warm enough that Harry couldn’t have left it long ago.

God. Draco's turmoil through the story is just... fantastic. The whole story is, actually. I love it.

Title: Unkissed Kisses and Songs Never Sung

This story is almost devastating, but it's not. And the way it's written is brilliant.

It moves from the past to the present. Harry has been injured in the line of duty, and while Draco waits for Harry to wake up, the story moves back to when they started dating, and through the problems they had, the fears and finally the consolidating of their relationship that is facing the hardest moments of their lives. Written in a perfect Draco POV.

It's incredible touching, so so much, and beautiful.

Draco has been a statue for five years, and placed into Harry's home. One day, out of the blue, he's back to being human, and he's not amused at being dressed with women's clothing, or appreciate being used as a coat rack or hidden under Moody's old bowler hat.

Yep, Draco Malfoy is not longer a statue, and he's not happy. And so now Harry's living with a warm and breathing and kicking Draco Malfoy.

Chaos ensues.

This is hilarious.

Title: Earthbound Spook

AU with Gryffindor!Draco.

I don't read Gryffindor Draco enough, because it was pretty cool read this absolutely different version of Draco and his sadness to see his best friends (from another reality) treat him like the enemy, even more so, see him learn what kind of Draco he was on *this* reality.

But he proves himself, this Draco, and Harry learns that he's not ready, or willing, to let him disappear again.

Not a character dead story, or a ghost story for that matter. ^^

Title: Reasonable Adjustments

This story is right at the top on my favourite list of disability fics.

Harry's been injured in the line of duty, and has lost the use of his wand arm, now he's asked Draco, who is a famous duelist, who help him use his other arm.

The characterizations of Harry and Draco are incredible. It's from Harry's POV and it's flawless. This is Harry. I mean, this is Harry. He's scarred, and courageous, and brave, and he is vulnerable, too, and he's so determined.

The shower scene, I think it's one of my favourite sex scenes ever written. There is nothing I don't love about this story. It's just amazing like that.
