Before I get into the why, I need to warn you about this fic: It's going to own your life from the moment you start until the moment you finish it. I think it might have a charm on it that you simply can't stop reading it.
This is story is about what could have been.
Harry's always wondered what would happened if after the Sectumsempra he would have go to Draco and offered his help, talked to him. It's one of his biggest regrets. When he hears from Albus that Draco is getting divorced he wonders again, and he meets a strange old man who gives him a "glimpse", and suddenly he's transported (sort of) to a different world where he did talk to Draco, and as a result of this everything changed. Harry and Draco are together on this reality, they have been for many, many years, they are happy, people who died is alive, and while many things remain the same, his life is completely different, and he's amazed to discover, this might be for the better, in some regards, obviously. However, it's only a glimpse, and there comes the moment in which he has to go back to his real life. But his life vision and perceptions are not the same now. What changes will it truly bring, well, this is what we're going to find out.
And it's painful to see him coming back to his "real life", because he's fallen in love with his 'what could have been' life, with his Draco, with those men he and Draco could have been, even with Maura, Ginny and Blaise's daughter, who doesn't exist in this life but was the only person who ever knew he wasn't his real 'uncle Harry' and became a confidant while he lived that life.
This story is rich. It's rich in emotions, it's rich in characters and characterisation, it's rich in descriptions, it's rich in the attention to detail; all these scenes that were thoughtfully, lovely constructed and cared for to make part of a beautiful tale that is while it is about "What Ifs" it's also about the power you have over your own life, the power over settling for something that is okay or if you'll go for that something that will make it extraordinary.
It's an outstanding story that you can't miss.
Sorry, I cross-posted this. Also, my last rec for a few days (going away for my b-day! ^^), but I reckon this fic will keep you busy for a few days. See you soon. :)

Date: 2013-02-09 06:58 am (UTC)after the third it still own my soul, like, seriously. i have this issue of that bathroom scene, and felt like JKR just brush aside that moment when there are so many possibilities of Potter-Malfoy-Weasley-Snape Unity Movement Against Noseless Lords from that scene onward[because after A:TLA im seriously this obsessed about two side from a war would come together and fight side by side in the end], like, if Harry would be more guilty and JKR would like to write more scene with Draco's fear and worries and has him more just this one dimensional bully character.
oh anyway, do you already read

Date: 2013-02-18 08:11 pm (UTC)I absolutely think Harry would have go and talked to Draco, or at the very least, at the very least, meant to talk to him. *nods*

Date: 2013-02-19 10:25 am (UTC)welcome :D that story is very lovely and had me feeling so warm and fuzzy, and is in a perfect tone for 'TURN' Universe, i mean saras-girl method of telling stories is very distinctive for me and omi_ohmy's style is just fit. for me at least. :)))))
