God, this fic is so incredibly emotional. It's about Harry, after the war feeling a bit lost, and finding "love." At first everything seems perfect, that he's found the perfect, loving partner, someone to love, who loves him, someone he can make a life with. But eventually all these illusions are broken, because Grayson Wenke, Harry's partner, shows his true self. Harry is subjected to all sorts of abuse and violations; physical, mental, verbal, unspeakable things Grayson does to him until Harry is nothing but filled with fear. And we can see that, how everything Harry is, is slowly chipped away until there's nothing but a ghost who lives to be someone's punching bag. It's so emotional, so heart-breaking, how alone he feels.

Eventually Harry learns he's pregnant, but Grayson wants to show the illusion of them being the perfect family, so he signs up a contract for a book with the Prophet, and the writer who'll document their life is one Draco Malfoy, who, thankfully sees more than Grayson wants to show, and is determined to help Harry.

There are strong warnings in this story, and are not to be taken lightly, because everything Harry goes through is truly terrible, but if you read it, go through all this with Harry, you'll see there's hope and the possibility of the happiest ending with someone who truly loves him and values him. :)

This story, it's just so powerful and angsty and amazing.The summary is going to give you a really good idea what the fic is about.

Harry travels to America to become an apprentice for Cleansing Dark Magic. There he meets Jacob, and you're going to love him, he's truly an amazing character, intriguing and brilliant. Harry, well, Harry has feelings for him. But soon after, Draco arrives to be learn with Jacob (and Harry), too. And man, Harry and Draco's relationship, I mean, they way the related, treat each other, how they are at the beginning is brilliant, and more so once they start this thing. It's more than just 'a thing', it's meaningful, and while Harry still feels something for Jacob, there's no denying what he feels for Draco is powerful, too.

Only, after Jacob dies during a job, Harry spirals out of control, at the beginning he starts doing drugs to cope with the loss and the pain and the guilt, but soon it's clear he has a problem, and eventually Draco can't take it any more. He feels he can't reach Harry and leave. And god, it hurts so good. To see Harry hurting this bad, feeling lonely and lost and unable to face his problem, failing his friends (and work), and ultimately facing all the mistakes he's made.

It's a bit hard to read, I guess, but that's because it's very powerful and real and full of feels, but it's amazing, and trust me, the ending is amazing, too. Harry comes a long way, finds forgiveness in a way, finds a place where he belongs, and Draco is there, and his friends are there. It's an amazing journey, this fic.

Title: come with me into the light

When Pansy asks Harry to help snap Malfoy out of his silence, what else is he supposed to say? Malfoy needs to be saved, and that's just what Harry does.

This story, oh, it's just so wonderful. It's sad and beautiful and so hopeful.

It's an 8th year story, and it starts as Harry noticed Draco's not himself, he hasn't been for a while. He's hardly around, and when he is there it's like he's a ghost, going through the motions. He wants to help him. Then one day Ernie, Draco's roommate, tells Harry Draco can't wake up. Harry takes him to the Hospital Wing and that's how they discover Draco is pregnant. Only Draco doesn't remember this happening to him.

Little by little though, prodded and pushed, Draco lets people to be there for him. Harry, Pansy, Luna, Ernie, they are there for him and it's gorgeous. I won't say anything else because I really don't want to spoil it, but read it, it's a gorgeous hurt/comfort story, and the ending is wonderful.

Title: Chaos Theory

This story is so, so amazing.

It's AU, Ravenclaw!Draco, genius!Draco (and if you're anything like me, you're going to fall in love with him and his mind), in which he changes history as we know it when in first year it's him two ventures past the locked door in the third floor. He meets Harry, but even before he realises he's met him, he feels such a fierce protectiveness towards Harry, which is amazing.

Harry becomes Draco's first friend, and seeing this happening; their friendship turning into something so much more it's so sweet and so lovely. There are all these beautiful moments, there's UST but it's so much more than that, it's about love, you know?

There's mentor!Snape (to both Harry and Draco), but there's also danger coming, because Voldemort is coming back, that's no different, in fact, it's more terrible than ever.

I'm going to cut here in case you want to read it without knowing a little more.

Draco does incredible things to protect Harry, and it's while trying to save him that he's trapped and tortured when he takes Harry's place in the Thrid Task in the Triwizard Tournament.

I know some of these tags and warnings [in the fic] can be scary, but it's such a great story. Something to note is that the ~scary part~ doesn't begin until roughly half the story, and when it's about to start, you're warned, and if you want to skip it, the author has written a guide of what happens during the harder-to-read chapters and tells you in which chapter you can keep reading without having missed anything relevant to the plot, however, after having read it, I can tell you that the gory parts, the torture parts, aren't really that long, as in, while Draco spends part of the time under the Imperius, the graphic descriptions of the torture (and all he's forced to do) doesn't expand to the rest of the story, only a few chapters.

It's really a story of love and sacrifices, at times it's hard to read (previously mentioned) but the ending is so beautiful, it's worth it. Brilliant.

Well! ^^ The summary pretty much tells you what this story is about.

Draco is a high-end escort and yes, Harry unknowingly hires him. You see, the thing is, Draco has created a potion that, unlike Polyjuice, doesn't turn him into someone else, it rather modifies his features just enough to make him different, and once Harry starts taking Draco to places (usually Ministry or private events), well, it's obvious he's interested, and then he's obviously more than interested when he asks Draco (Tristan as the guy who Draco 'turns' into is called) to spend a month with him. And yes, at first Draco does it for revenge, he wants Draco to love Tristan, and then Draco would reveal himself. Only it never happens, because while Draco might deny it, he starts having feelings for Draco.

Eventually Harry discovers the ruse, but by then Draco admits he loves Harry, but Harry, well, he's hurt and upset and more than that, he's bloody furious, but Draco's going to try to win him back (Hermione is awesome btw). There's a lot to be said, a lot of things happen, but I don't want to spoil it.

Just now this story is incredibly intense and raw and it's filled with feelings and self-discoveries. It's an emotional rollercoaster. And it's hot too. There's so much dirty talking, so much, there's sex and it's hot and intense and rough and filthy but also loving at times, and I know it comes with a lot of warnings (mind those, by the way), but it's the story is awesome.

This series starts as one hot (smoking hot) PWP and then it becomes so much more. Oh, so much more!

The story starts with Harry (and Ron and Hermione) on the run, hiding at Gimmauld Place, which is where Harry finds Draco showering, and he simply can't resist him. He just can't. There's delicious smut, so much dirty talking! Actually, there's dirty talking all through the fic. :D

But like I said, it becomes so much more. Here, a spoiler tag, in case you just want to go ahead and be surprised.

Anyway! Things start turning serious because the effect Draco has on Harry is apparently not natural, but induced, and this effect is magnified by the Horcrux Harry has inside him. But there are many questions to be answered yet; is it only the Horcrux making Harry feel the way he feels about Draco? Is Draco affected in any way or does he simply yield to Harry by his own free will? What will Harry do when he learns all of this?


It's really exciting figuring all this, to see them go in this emotional ride while fighting a war. At times it's devastating for both of them, but it's pretty damn amazing, too, finding the answers, and hot, god, this fic is hot!

Title: The Ballad of the Merman

Wow. Okay, this fic is as the summary says, Voldemort won the war, and Harry was given to Draco as a gift. And Draco, Draco keeps him, because he loves Harry, you see, and he'd so anything for him.

But the way it's written, it's so fucked up, this reality, Harry so broken, to the point of accepting his imprisonment, accept Draco and his fate, it's heart-breaking and dark, but it makes you feel this fic in your heart. It's amazing and powerful.

Title: A Fox’s Bargain

Okay, so Harry and Draco made an arrangement, Draco is going to give Harry information about a case, and in return, Harry is Draco's for one hour. But you know, never mind that, this story is smoking hot. God, is it ever! The dirty talking is delicious, and the teasing, and Draco is such a bastard, a hot, sexy, devious one at that. And Harry, Harry takes it like a champ. I mean, it's incredibly hot.

This is such a fantastic story, written under the premise that Dark creatures have taken over the Wizarding world, and Draco with a group of hunters fight them. But then he's bitten and captured by a werewolf pack, though he doesn't transform, and now he finds out where Harry Potter has been missing for years.

I love because it doesn't romanticize werewolves, and Draco is not quite a hero, he's just Draco, like my friend eidheann_writes, who recced me this story, said: "still puts one foot in front of the other and not only survives but he makes the best of things."

I loved how both Harry and Draco were written here, in this scenario.

Title: The Rules Of War or at AO3

The summary gives you an idea of what this story is about. But not everything is black or white. Harry is not downright an evil bastard; there are a series of extenuating circumstances that finally push Harry to do this, wanting Draco so badly, being rejected again and again, and believing Draco is the only thing that can make him happy.

And you can see Harry making this huge mistake, that first time. But at the same time this story will show you his side, sort of make you understand how hard it is for Harry to stop after he had that first taste of everything he wanted. That first time will make you see; Harry is not evil, he's just desperate, he just wants so much. And you will feel for him.

And then the next time it happens, you see, Harry also starts falling into this trap, because he starts feeling close to Draco, he even found a potion that allows Draco retain his personality, so it's not like Draco is simply a puppet (though Harry doesn't forget he's taken Draco's power of decision on this huge thing, the most important, even), but Draco is very much himself, only he's Harry's and it's so much easier to pretend.

There's a very human side of Harry, a grey side if you will, that makes Harry want something so badly he finally goes ahead and takes it. It's not excuse, he knows it isn't, and he knows it's wrong, but he wants that life so badly. Doesn't he deserve to have what he wants, too? These are the things this story makes you think about, take in consideration before judging him.

It's incredible emotional and dramatic, the way Harry desperately wants Draco, how he fall in love, he honestly does, and finally facing the consequences of what he's done.

It took me a while to gather the courage to read this story because I was afraid, but it was worth it; it's engaging, moving, so very well written, with great characterisations, and I hope you give it a chance, too.

This story is fantastic. (And sorry for what I think it's my longest rec yet. >.<)

It's the Wizarding world worst nightmare. The Muggles are aware of the Magical world's existence, and they are persecuting wizards and witches, keeping the them in prison, witches in camps and bounding their magic.

This fic tells three stories at the same time. No, it's not confusing, yes, it's incredible.

It tells how Harry and Draco got together, back when Voldemort was the threat, not the Muggles. It tells how their relationship was at first secret, and how Draco was a spy for the Order. It tells how these persecutions started, how the Muggles slowly starting killing and trapping wizards, binding their magic, and what happened to Draco while being in prison in a different country and how Harry went through this without him. And these two merge into the main story; Draco returning to England years after, finding the Wizarding World nearly extinct but for those few who have survived by hiding, unaware of everything Harry had suffered and realising how much he had, and all the struggles he endures, all he does until he finally frees Harry and the other prisoners who are barely alive in the Muggle prisons and camps.

It's almost stark, nearly a Dark story, but not because it's hopeless, but because it's so very dramatic, the persecutions of the Muggles, the abuse, mental, psychological and physical wizards and witches suffer is almost disturbing.

It's touching, it's so incredibly touching, the struggles, God, everything Harry and Draco went through, together and apart. Harry constant, growing dread about what's happening in the Wizarding world while the Muggles attack them, and Draco being away in prison, lost from the world, unaware of everything Harry and his world is going through. But I must stress, while there's plenty of Angst, and indeed, I'm tagging this entry as angst, it's not only angst. There are parts, many parts, that will make you smile, parts that will remind you how strong they are, and how together they can overcome anything.

Just like a tragic story, this fic, as it portrays everything the characters go through, it also shows you all these things that are worth going through hell and back, you know?

It's mainly told from Draco's POV, but it switches to others, which can be a bit distracting, but the story is so good even with that distraction.

There's only a bit of a downside, and this that the sequel From the Ashes is incomplete, and probably abandoned, as it hasn't been updated since 2009. But it's not that this fic ends in a cliffhanger, just, you would have liked to know more of their story. But it's really great. One of those epic stories you remember.

Oh, Also, while in this story they switch, it's mainly bottom!Harry.

This story really has a certain disturbing feel about it, as it should be, because Harry has a stalker, one that has attacked him, and what's more, it makes Harry feel it's his fault it happened.

Harry has been attacked, and Ron, as the Head Auror, has put Draco, the best Hit Wizard in the Ministry, in charge of his security. But Harry, the thing is, Harry doesn't want to live like that, with a 'babysitter' of sorts, and maybe you'll think he's being stubborn, but you'll see his way, you'll understand why he refuses to be afraid.

It's the sort of story that will keep you on the edge of your seat because you keep waiting for something to happen, and it does, little by little until it's caught on you fully, just like it did to Harry, and shock you, and you'll feel with him the impotency of it all.

But through all of this, what goes through between Harry and Draco is lovely, filled with UST, and then sexy and sweet.

It's a gorgeous suspense story.

The first Dark fic at hd_holidays, and it's magnificent.

The moment I saw the warnings and saw it listed Stockholm syndrome I knew I was going to love it, and I did.

The thing is, Harry somewhere along the way Draco became Harry's ray of home, he actually believe Draco doesn't mean to hurt him, even though he's keeping Harry prisoner and training him to become Voldemort's slave. He, Draco, is obviously struggling with this, with what he has to do to Harry, but he's still doing it, which is a contradiction in itself.

Their encounters are intense and even tender, yet stained with the situation that at times Harry seems to forget.

I think it ends in the perfect place, too. It's a powerful story, do mind the warnings though, but it's so very worth it.

Title: All That Remains

This is one of the most touching stories I've ever read.

In a world devastated after the war, the Drain of Magic, and magical epidemics, Draco is a Social Worker. Harry simply went missing, after a ritual that would help to destroy Voldemort, but caused countless deaths and drained of magic to all witches and wizards.

I simply can't describe how dramatic this fic is. It's going to grip your heart from the very beginning, and it's going to squeeze it little by little until you feel it's going to break. But it's such a gorgeous story, finding comfort under these circumstances, and from the most unlikely sources. It has a beautiful, hopeful ending.

This is such a gripping story, once I started I couldn't stop reading it.

The fic starts when Harry finds Draco working as a prostitute. He comes back looking for Draco and ends up buying Draco's contract from his pimp. But what Harry didn't know, is that in doing so he became Draco's owner. The story develops as we learn the extent of this "bond", this ownership, which is what it is, and the conspiracies behind such contracts. We learn everything Draco went through all these years and the consequences of all the exploitation he's suffered, how Draco came to be a whore, and we see Draco struggling with years of violence and abuse at the hands of his previous owners.

At the same time we have Harry, and Harry is a very complex character too. He has issues, many. He's still scarred about everything he went through during the war, he has problems controlling his magic and his temper, though he's very respected in the Magical World, and he's in denial about his sexuality, but it's not a blind denial, because he does acknowledge he is attracted to Draco. There is this incredible scene, the first time Draco touches Harry, and it's so bittersweet and sexy at the same time. My heart ached for Harry at that moment. It's gorgeous.

The title Broken Toy, I personally believe, it actually refers to both of them. Draco is broken, however, he's not broken in the sense that has no will and he's only a shadow of whom he used to be, he's still Draco Malfoy through and through, and it shows, but he's a damaged person who need someone to help him. And there's Harry, with many issues, who needs someone to love him.

Amidst all of this, they find each other, they truly find each other and at the end of the journey they find solace.

I also loved the way it was written, aside from this plot, which is so very engrossing, I really liked the writing itself, I loved the voice the author gave to both Harry and Draco.

As a note, there's Ginny bashing on this fic, and a bit of Weasley bashing (Fred, George and Ron, though Ron comes around). The story is mainly bottom Draco, but there are a couple of scenes with bottom!harry. I don't know why I mention it, I guess I know how important that's to some people, but in a 150K story one can hardly expect there's not switching, yeah? Still, there you go. ^^
