Not to mention foreign unicorn women, slavering three headed beasts, bitter brews, unexpected friendships, and the consequences of a very cocky vocabulary.

This is such a darling of a fic, truly.

The summary is pretty clear; Draco is about to be made redundant at the Department of Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, but the thing is, he really needs that job, so he ~grabs this position as a Centaur Liaison, which apparently nobody wants because Centaurs want nothing to do with wizards and basically it's a dead-end job. But he's determined! And after talking to McGonagall he gets the clear to be able to go into the Forbidden Forest, only he has to check in with the groundskeeper, which turns to be Harry, filling in while Hagrid is away.

God, Draco's voice here is a darling, and he has this way to talk – it's really, really funny. And at first Harry's suspicious of Draco but then he sees Draco means business as Draco tries pretty much everything to successfully liaison with the Centaurs.

Like I said, it's very funny and witty and sweet, too. Plenty of magical creatures abound! :)

Title: Two Weeks

But this is fine. Harry’s been through worse, and he can just sit this one out, regardless of how much his body is screaming for the one person he doesn’t want to ask for help. Can’t he?

This story, god, it's so gorgeous. The pining, Jesus!

But let me start at the beginning. Harry is a Veela. :D And he's come into his Veela heritage because there's someone in his life for whom he cares very, very deeply, and seeing them in danger was trigger. It's Draco. Harry knows it's Draco. Ron knows it's Draco (who is awesome, by the way, Ron, I mean. Okay, so is Draco I just now I was talking about Ron :D). But the thing is, they are beginning to be friends, and well, Harry doesn't want to ruin that, so he does what he thinks it's best; he locks himself in his home and avoids Draco like the pest. Only not being around Draco is driving him crazy – literally, he's just not well, and Draco on the other hand, is hurt because he also thought they were friends. Eventually Harry comes clean.

Oh my god, it's beautiful, I'm telling you. The pining, the sheer want, it's got some hilarious moment, comfort and yummy sexy sex. :D

You see, Harry and Draco have been together for a while now, but there's something they haven't done yet. But now, now Harry's ready for it, and trust me when say, Draco makes it so, so very good for Harry.

It's not only smoking hot, and boy, is it ever! But their relationship is beautiful. Harry's a bit nervous and Draco is wonderful, he's gentle and then it gets super intense, ah, it's just lovely all around. A perfect first time in an established relationship fic. :D

This story is so amazing, God. As the summary says, Harry comes home to find Draco's had an accident while creating a very powerful lusty Potion, and of course he accidentally gets dosed as well. He goes to find Draco, and yep, Draco's waiting and naked and he's wanking and it's pretty much the best thing ever to happen to Harry.

Only, aside from being insanely hot, there are so many beautiful insights in Harry and Draco's relationship, how perfect they are for each other, and even after years of being together, they are so madly in love.

Muggle!AU \o/ In which Harry and Draco are rival swimmers for different schools, until they go to the same college and after Harry's “We’re swimming for the same team now, Malfoy. You can stop being a dick.” they become friends, best friends, in fact.

After graduation they decided to make a road trip through America, and let me tell you, seeing their feelings bloom is so wonderful. It's written from Harry's POV, and the way he loves seeing Draco, the real Draco, happy and carefree, it's just beautiful, as is the way they both feel about each other.

Of course it's not that simple, because there are many expectations over Draco, and they are both afraid to the end of the trip. I won't say more, just that it's truly lovely seeing them coming together. :)

Title: A Thousand Beautiful Things

Content/Warning(s): Canon divergence (AU) after OotP.

I cannot believe I hadn't recced this before, because it's really amazing and definitely one of my favourites.

It's an AU after Order of the Phoenix, in which Draco is a spy for the Order and starts training with Snape for when the time comes. It's not linear, because the story starts when the war is over and won and Draco's facing Lucius's death.

It has different POVs, and all brilliant. We got to see the development of Dean and Draco's friendship after the war (Dean is so, so awesome! But so is Seamus!), after Draco saved Dean and Seamus, we get Draco's POV and even Snape's POV. It's very complex and rich in characterisations.

The heart of it is, we learn that back when Harry and Draco were at Hogwarts, before the war broke, Lucius cast a spell on Harry that would trigger after his death. This spell would make Harry every evening to insult and abuse his friends (verbally) until exhaustion, and if left alone he'd be a danger to himself. Draco witnessed Lucius casting the spell, but during the war, and even after the war, dealing with the Ministry and the aftermath - because even though he was cleared as an ally of the Light, people still don't trust a Malfoy - he forgot, and it’s not until Dean mentions Harry's having a hard that he remembers, sees the effect of Lucius's curse first hand, and he's faced with a choice. He could break the spell, but he could also lose everything, for to break the spell he needs to make a Vow of Silence.

It's fantastic, this fic. The way Draco is there for Harry through these 'cursed' evenings, the way he see the story (past and present) unfold, the way Draco changes with time, friendships made, and Harry's growing need for Draco, it's all so very good, man! Read it if you haven't, and you know, if have, read it again because it's truly brilliant. :D

Title: the keys to your kingdom

It was teeth just a little too sharp— against a collarbone, on the right-side curve of a jaw, drawing blood from the plushest part of a bottom lip. It was the doorframe digging into the curve his spine was making of its own volition: closer, harder, more. Two hundred pain receptors per square inch in the human body and it was nothing but background noise in the explosion, the revelation, that was Harry Potter’s body against his.

This fic is fantastic. It was written for the trope Denial, from Draco's POV, and it's about Harry and Draco and this thing they've been having for years and how Harry is ready to call it for what it is, a relationship. Only Draco is not there yet, he's, well, in denial about exactly everything Harry means to him, too.

It's so much more than that though, because through the beautiful writing you can see the way Draco feels about Harry, how he sees him, we get to see a bit how this whole thing started, how it's obvious so much more than Draco is letting on. It's brilliant, the ending is wonderful and just everything. :D

Title: Eternally Consistent

Summary: Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter assumed they would never be anything but civil enemies, until Potter lands on Malfoy's doorstep, bleeding, covered in curses, and acting very strangely indeed.

Such an exciting and interesting fic (it's going to keep you in your toes!). Draco is so snarky, bless him, and Harry and Draco's relationship, interactions and build up are really cool. The way they both know exactly what to tell each other to get that reaction, the one they were looking for is priceless.

The story is super interesting. I don't want to give the plot away, but basically Harry and Draco have to work together, or rather Draco has to work on a time anomaly with the Time-Turners and Harry is there to protect him. Only at the beginning of all this, Harry (future!Harry) shows up at Malfoy Manor injured and asking for help, leaving only a note and a Time-Turner behind, but the whole thing – Draco's interactions with that Harry, are at odds with his interactions with current!Harry, so he proceeds with caution while Harry (present Harry?) is doing everything in his power to, er, get closer to Draco.

I know it sounds confusing, and I'm probably making a mess of explaining, but you ought to trust me, this story is great. The characterisations, their bickering and how they try to get along, Hermione and Millie (they are together!) are awesome.

Title: Stately Homes of Wiltshire

Summary: Malfoy Manor has mould, dry rot and an infestation of unusually historical poltergeists. Harry Potter is on the case.

Such a fantastic story this is. It's fun, entertaining, super interesting and it has some amazing characterisations of – damn, everybody, really. I'm not kidding!

It has gorgeous characterisations of Draco, who is trying to very hard to salvage his Manor from decay while at the same time dealing with all sorts of poltergeists and with a (at first) reluctant Auror detail tailing him to monitor any potential Dark activity. An Auror detail who is completely (unwillingly and unaware at first) smitten with Draco. Of course I'm talking about Harry. :D And Harry has such a lovely characterisation, too.

This is the sort of story that pulls you in and those 57K fly by because you don't want to stop reading it. There's plenty of bantering and bickering, too, lovely scenes with Ron and Hermione (they rock, really), Pansy and Greg (who also rock). And then there's the plot itself, that shows you what the Manor meant to Draco, during the war, what it means to him to be in charge, and there's more, there's Harry's conflicted feelings about his job, and all through his Harry and Draco are so them. Definitely an instant favourite. :)

Title: Feel You In These Walls

But then it happens again, again, and neither of them had anticipated having feelings involved - but then they've never been able to keep anything casual, have they?

This story is so gorgeous. Harry and Draco are amazing and so vulnerable.

It starts with Harry and Draco working in the Castle's repairs, they are working alone in the dungeons, and of course it's not going too smoothly. Draco's constantly criticising Harry until this one time instead of fighting, or rather instead of coming to a fistfight, something else happen. Something amazing and terrifying. One thing leads to another and next thing we know they are on Draco's bed, and it's tender in a way, and tentative, and they are trying to hard not to ruin the moment.

Then we see them react afterwards, we see a bit from Harry's POV and Draco's POV, and I'm telling you, they are so vulnerable and unsure about the future, about voicing their feelings, it's all kinds of perfect. :)

Title: Now My Neck Is Open Wide (begging for a fist around it)

God, this fic is so incredibly emotional. It's about Harry, after the war feeling a bit lost, and finding "love." At first everything seems perfect, that he's found the perfect, loving partner, someone to love, who loves him, someone he can make a life with. But eventually all these illusions are broken, because Grayson Wenke, Harry's partner, shows his true self. Harry is subjected to all sorts of abuse and violations; physical, mental, verbal, unspeakable things Grayson does to him until Harry is nothing but filled with fear. And we can see that, how everything Harry is, is slowly chipped away until there's nothing but a ghost who lives to be someone's punching bag. It's so emotional, so heart-breaking, how alone he feels.

Eventually Harry learns he's pregnant, but Grayson wants to show the illusion of them being the perfect family, so he signs up a contract for a book with the Prophet, and the writer who'll document their life is one Draco Malfoy, who, thankfully sees more than Grayson wants to show, and is determined to help Harry.

There are strong warnings in this story, and are not to be taken lightly, because everything Harry goes through is truly terrible, but if you read it, go through all this with Harry, you'll see there's hope and the possibility of the happiest ending with someone who truly loves him and values him. :)

Yes, this fic is so much fun, Harry's reactions at Draco and then when they start, and then—I won't say more so it's not ruined, but oh my god, read it! It's excellent.

Title: Higher and Higher (Temptation)

Now following Draco’s direct orders gives him intense pleasure, and Draco has a whole heap of troubles to deal with, not least the way Potter looks when the collar has him gasping with bliss. The whole situation would test the morals of a saint... and Draco’s no saint.

Oh my god! Did you see that summary? Well, yes, that's what this fic is about, and it's every bit as good as you imagine. Harry puts on a magical collar and now every time Draco gives him an order he—he feels a lot of pleasure.

But, of course there's a but (OMG!) Draco doesn't want to take advantage of Harry like this. Never mind that Harry wants him! But, they'll get there.

It's insanely good, funny, all the UST in the world, brilliant, absolutely brilliant characterisations of Harry and Draco, and let me tell you, Theo also rocks! Incredible story. :D

Title: Uncivilized

A much beloved trope here: Draco working for Harry. And oh god, it's brilliant, awesome bickering, and super hot, but I'll get to that.

The story starts with a very irritated Draco at facing his boss's indifference in favour of a "telly-fone", which turns to them bickering, which turns to them fighting, (literally!) Throwing each other paperweights and inkpots and ultimately becoming a fistfight, which naturally turns to sex. The hottest ~angry sex ever. \o/

Title: Late Bloomers

Summary: Harry always thought he had a pretty satisfying array of sexual fantasies, until he stumbles upon the Mirror of Erised again and sees himself getting banged senseless by Draco Malfoy. Now he can't stop thinking about it, and that summer almost twenty years ago when he'd come to know Malfoy very well indeed.

Such a wonderful, lovely story. It's non-linear, from Harry's POV, and in one time-time we see Harry and Draco meeting a few years after the war, back when they were finding his footing and discovering what they were going to do with their lives. They have a hot (smoking hot!!!!) season together, no quite a relationship, but something that obviously mattered to them. It runs its natural course, both follow different paths, and in the other time-line we see them older, Harry's separated from Ginny and is starting a new life, and after meeting Draco again (and a rather vivid vision in the Mirror of Erised) he admits he never forgot Draco.

It's wonderful indeed, seeing them mature, seeing the history they had, how good they were together, and yet, they maybe needed this time apart to reach the point they reach at the gorgeous ending. :) It has lovely characterisations of Harry and Draco and Blaise and Ron and Hermione. :D
