This is a really amazing fic. The story starts the day Draco arrives to Ireland, to the house Harry's been living for the last few years along with other people, to do his Potion mastery. Harry does not react well. ^^ And he's even less thrilled to find out they are going to share a room. There's a lot of antagonism at the beginning, but eventually they start being able to be civil and then get to know each other. There's the physical attraction, which they are both fighting, but while all this is happening they are still dealing with trauma from the war, which makes it even more difficult for them to leave the past behind.

It's incredibly touching though, so many beautiful moment of them dealing with war trauma, slow burn with a lot of sexual tension (eventually resolved) and they working through their issues. Truly awesome. :)

But it's not a story about Harry dealing with the press, at least it's not only a story about that, it's a story about coming out, about finally being honest with yourself about who you are and what you want, no matter how old you are.

It's written from Draco's POV. They aren't best friends exactly, they just work together on occasion, Harry as Auror and Draco as a lawyer, but there's always been something between them, and now that Harry's out, maybe it could truly be something.

Seriously, lovely, intense and sexy, Harry and Draco are older, mature, they know what they want and it's wonderful.

I so love memory loss fic and this one is wonderful. :)

The story starts when Draco travels to California for business and sees a familiar face, one that has been missing from the Wizarding world since right after the Battle of Hogwarts. It's Harry, though he quickly realises Harry doesn't remember him, doesn't remember himself, doesn't even know he's a wizard and—well. Obviously Draco has to do something, and that something is basically kidnap him and bring him back to London. :D

Of course he calls Ron and Hermione (who are very wary about the whole thing to say the least) and the process of bringing Harry's memories back starts.

It's wonderful, to see Harry starting to remember little things, and while this happen all this sexual tension between Harry and Draco growing – since Harry is staying at Draco's place while he's remembering. But of course it's not easy once the press gets wind of Harry being back. ^^

Title: Harry Potter and the Future He Doesn't Really Want, Thanks.

This story has such a cool premise. It's rather effing brilliant, actually. Right after the war Harry starts having these dreams, visions of the future. Not in the 'you shall kill a Dark Lord' sort of way, just very vivid dreams that are in fact showing him the future. Sometimes it's little things, other times involve some of his friends, often it's something it's going to happen to him, and if that's not weird enough, his latest dream showed him a vision of him and Draco Malfoy being a couple, obviously in love, living together, such a sweet vision, so naturally he wakes up freaking out and freaks some more to Luna (his roommate, or rather he's staying in her couch) and Neville (sleeping with Luna). :D

He doesn't want that future. It's not that he hates Draco. He sort of ~nothing Draco, but it's still Malfoy, so it's enough reason for him to be utterly unsettled, so of course he runs into Draco right after having that first dream. :D It's rather brilliant, I'm telling you. He keeps running into Draco all over the city—Draco's been sentenced to leave the wizarding world so he's living amongst Muggles and he's really trying and, you know, I'm going to share one of my favourite quotes:

He knew, then, that Malfoy had changed, or would change, or was in the process of changing.

Harry knew, with the same surety, that he wanted to be there for it. He wanted to watch as Malfoy unfolded himself and shook out the parts that were cruel and mean and hateful. He wanted to watch for the moment when Malfoy’s limbs and heart and brain and muscles moved in a way that wasn’t heavy with unease and anger. He wanted to see a thousand more easy smiles on Malfoy’s face, it wouldn’t even matter if he hadn’t put them there himself. He wanted to see Malfoy bloom with laughter.

Slow burn and amazing. :)

It's. . . bonding!Fic, oh boy, it's so wonderful. As the summary says, Harry and Draco, in their Eighth Year, get accidentally bonded, their magical cores get accidentally bonded (well, as accidentally as it can be when someone aims a Hex at Draco and Harry tries to Protego him and the Hex bonces back to him) and now they have to be in close proximity, but more so, they can feel what they other is feeling and even communicate through the bond.

It makes for a very awkward couple of days, but then they have all these ~feelings~ as they explore each other's cores, and—well, there's knowing each other better, sexual tension (pretty quickly turning into OMG sexual need, which soon turns into them having sex all the time because they can't keep their hands off each other), there's also some pretty awesome Magical Theory about cores and how it relates to the elements. But it's not so simple, because while Harry wants to face these feelings he has for Draco, Draco is not ready.

It's wonderful, really. Here's a quote about that lovely Magical Theory about cores:

The elements you draw your magic from indicate who you are, and each of these characteristics can be applied to your personalities as well. Earth, Mr. Potter, indicates that you are strong, that you care for those around you, and that you endure. This story is just so cool, man. :D It starts with Harry and Draco in Auror training and everybody being horrible to Draco, basically, so when the time comes Harry asks to be partnered with Draco and eventually this leads to obsession (heh!) and then to a sort of friends with benefits arrangement. Only it's obvious Harry wants more, but Draco is resisting! ^^ Harry's nothing if not persistent though, so eventually—well, you'll see! It's fun and romantic. :)

Headlights in the Snow is Saras_girl's 2016 Advent, and it follows the 25 days leading to Christmas. It starts in George's stag party, when Harry's a little drunk and the whole group takes the Knight Bus and Harry's absolutely certain – or as certain as he can be, as he is a little drunk – that Draco is the one driving the bus. No one else seems to notice, but of course Harry does.

Obviously his curiosity gets the better of him and hails the bus to investigate further, and yes, it was Draco Malfoy driving the bus all right. :D And so Harry's in for an adventure, discovering what Draco has been up to, the strange and amazing routine he has with a wonderful (utterly wonderful) group of old ladies who have made the Knight Bus their home (not literally, but think of the bus as their daily social club meeting place, which is indeed what it is) and ultimately falling in love. It's a journey in more ways than one and absolutely lovely and magical. :)

Title: No Want of Motive

Such a cool and awesome fic. It starts with Draco wanting to sell some questionable artifacts, but you see, first he wants to know what motivations people have to buy them, so they don't end up with a Dark Wizard-wannabe, so he get this Motive Monitor that tells him people motivations/intentions, and right after he gets it, yep, he runs into Harry. And of course he uses it on Harry, and quite surprised to see it points to 'sexual attraction'! He starts flirting with Harry, first to get a rise out of him, but you know, being attracted to Harry himself, it is a bit of a double-edged sword. :D

Anyway, Draco ends up in some trouble and Auror in training Harry is appointed to tail him, which obviously drives Harry (and Draco!) crazy. There's tons of UST and smoking hot scenes (maybe a hint to unwilling attraction there ftw!), and eventually they have to face this sexual attraction becoming more than just sexual. Super!

Title: Christmas at The Dog and Duck

This story is a delight. Harry and Draco are working together in organising the Auror end of the year party and Draco's being a thorn in Harry's side. And he's managed to convince Harry that they need to go away for the weekend to procure the kind of booze he wants for the party. Only, they have ~unfinished~ business, which involve fighting and kissing (!!!!) and, well, maybe they manage to finish those business this weekend as well if, you know, they stop snarking to each other. It's so lovely. :D

Title: Boom Clap (The Sound of My Heart)

It’s a veritable wizarding utopia and life is predictable for the first time in years. Which is, of course, when everything blows apart as the result of a drunken dare and Malfoy’s life is ruined beyond his capacity to repair it. Ever. In a million years.

Oh god, so much yummy pining in this fic. :D

That story starts with Harry and Draco doing rounds at Hogwarts. They are 'Fellows,' teachers assistants and sort of secondary teachers, if you will, helping their Head of Houses with the students as well. They are friendly, not best of friends, but definitely the sort of friends that have a nice banter going on, but things come to a head when this one night Harry confesses he fancied Draco back in sixth year. This turns Draco's life upside down, and it does so because Draco's always had feelings for Harry, and now they're back with a new fervour. Then things are a bit awkward between them and then less so, and then a lot more awkward after a drunken kiss in a drinking game and—well, let me say it again, there's a lot of pining in this fic. :D

It's from Draco's POV, and his characterisation is wonderful, seeing face his fear, help his students facing theirs, seeing his interactions with his fellow Fellows. Wonderful, all of this is wonderful. Those nearly 40K are going to fly, trust me! :)

Title: A Ghost in the Garden

This fic is so interesting! It's a case!fic, and it's about a series of attacks, apparently by Muggle-borns targeting Tradition Wizarding values and institutions that represents them. But Hermione and Draco, both in charge of the investigation, believe it's a conspiracy. Eventually Harry is involved and under a secret identity he poses as Draco's Auror partner and eventually as his romantic partner while trying to infiltrate pureblood society.

But it's more than that as well, because Draco is dealing with his own personal issues, his own ghosts, both literal and metaphorical, and until he's dealt with them, he won't be able to fully explore what he could have with Harry. It's pretty amazing. :)

Title: Five Weddings and a Potions Accident

This fic is so awesome. There's a lot of smut, but you know, that's only one of the many awesome things about it.

The thing is, Harry is perfectly content with his life, but all around him his friends have someone, they are getting married, and they, Hermione in the lead, want to see him happy as well, so, they had this idea that for every wedding they'll set Harry up with someone, and will help Harry find true love. That there's a bet going on to see who sets him up best is by the by. :D

What they don't know is that Harry's been seeing Draco. It's a friends with benefit sort of arrangement, you see, nothing serious. But with each disastrous date Harry endures he realises maybe this thing with Draco isn't quite as simple.

So much smut! And pining, and gorgeous Draco, and friends first, and—well, it's wonderful. :)

Title: Weeds or Wildflowers

Oh my god, this fic is so amazing, I kid you not!

We have Harry and Draco trying this matchmaking service and they are stuck with being set up with each other, over and over and over again even though Draco's doing everything in his power to avoid Harry. :D It's a Magical Matching system, which is the best thing ever, basically. :D

Anyway, so they go on dates and at first is super awkward (and brilliant!) but then all this tension makes itself known – and by 'tension' I mean all the UST!! Until it's undeniable.

Butt here's also all these gorgeous characterisation of both Harry and Draco; Draco is complex and amazing and drives Harry crazy, and Harry's charming and honest and so effing sexy, Draco can't resist him.

Awesome, fun and sexy and very moving, too. :)

Title: Highlands

Summary: The tent was a joke, that was basically the only explanation he could come up with as to why the Aurors would send he and Draco on a several-month mission with only their most basic model. Once, when Harry had been on one of the big ones, the kind of mission where there was a little Auror camp out in the wilderness, twenty or so tents all pitched practically on top of each other, he had slept in one with two stories. Actually it was more of a mezzanine level, but still. Their current one didn’t even have a fucking toilet. And if Harry were allowed to communicate with anyone other than Draco then he would definitely be lodging an official complaint right about now.

This fic is such a delight. As the summary says, Harry and Draco, Auror partners, are sent on a mission with the smallest of tents. But that's not a huge problem. Granted, it's a problem, along the lousy tent there's the lousy weather and the lousy mission, but that's all fine. The thing is, Harry has this huge crush on Draco, Draco who is absolutely wonderful and is a special friend, they are very good friends, but they are like, dude, they are special friends, okay? See:

Sometimes they went to Luna and Ginny’s place to play board games, sometimes they went over to lunch at Ron and Hermione’s, but mostly they went to the cinema, or to bookshops, or art galleries. It was nice, Harry thought, having a friend that he’d had to work for, and for that work to be rewarded with something so lovely.

It was what made the fact that he was probably a tiny bit in love with Draco Malfoy such a fucking inconvenience.

There's a bit of banter and this lovely slow-build. Really, this fic is wonderful. :)

This fic, oh my god, it's just so hot. It starts with Draco running into Harry in a pub, and they banter a bit but basically they got out into this alley and they can't keep their hands off each other – particularly Harry! Oh god!

And then they go to Draco's place and it gets better. And then—actually, I won't say anything else. You're going to be glad I didn't say anything else. It's gorgeous! :D

Title: The Darkness Before the Dawn

This fic is just so exciting. It's a case!fic, and the plot is super! As the summary says, it starts when Harry requests helps from the Beast Division because there's been attacks in London and it's clearly a creature, and Malfoy is the liaison they sent.

And oh my god, they do not get along at all, but Draco proves to be super efficient and even though he's a pain in Harry's bum he's extremely helpful. However, some people at the ministry (the Head of Draco's department among many) are still very prejudiced, and soon start to wonder if maybe Draco's being so efficient because he's hiding something. Harry knows it's not the case, he's seen Draco's work and though it's not easy working with him, he trusts him. Along the way, well, there's attraction (very nice slow-build), which they fight and even ignore, the case becomes more complicated what with people suspecting Draco. It's really, really interesting and exciting, awesome characterisations of Harry (he's such a great Auror) and Draco (smart, efficient Draco!). :)

Title: Luckiest Fucking Size Queen Alive

Seriously though, Draco's POV as he goes on and on (and on!) about Harry is hilarious, it's sexy (funny and sexy!) and then the fic is incredibly sweet too. Ohh, and Harry is SUPER charming. :D

There's so much lovely hurt/comfort in this fic. It starts when Draco summons Harry to his office for a work-related interview (Draco's working on a reform of Wizengamot Hearing procedures) and he needed to interview Harry about his hearing back from Fifth Year. Anyway, Harry is super curious about what Draco's been up to but once he sees Draco he realises there's something wrong with him. Days pass without hearing from Draco again so he takes a chance and goes to see him again, only to find him unconscious, and after taking him to St Mungo's, learning he had an unintentional overdose of Dreamless Sleep Potion.

He's surprised by how worried he is, how much he cares, and from then on, he's there for Draco every step of the way. There's a lot of emphasis on the comfort here, to the point that Draco practically moves in with Harry. And of course, eventually realising their feelings for reach other. Lovely. :)

Title: Winging It

This story has such a cool premise! It's a Dragonriders of Pern fusion, but let me tell you, you don't need to know anything about it to enjoy and love this fic. I didn't and I found it super original! :D

The story starts when Draco, while collecting ingredients for potions, stumbles upon a dragon's egg, a wild queen's egg. As he was carrying the egg to Hogsmeade so the egg could find her human bondmate, the egg starts hatching. Now, traditionally queen dragons only bond with women (drakes do so with the men), but Draco's dragon bonds with him right away. It causes quite a stir in the village, but they accept it and Draco's life changes.

He loves his queen dragon, but once his queen is ready to mate, well, things get just a little complicated. Draco thinks none of the dragonrides would allow their drakes to mate with Salzaria (that's how he names her!), but of course, Harry is the only rider that has the temerity to send his drake, Hedwig. And so, like their dragons, Harry and Draco mate.

It's really cool and even sweet, see the progression of their relationship. It's a bit distant and uncomfortable at the beginning, but they both try to make it work, and you can see they become really fond of each other with time. ;)

Title: Under the Same Sky

There's something very, very beautiful about this story. Well, there's a lot of things amazing and beautiful about it, but what I mean is, the way the puppy play/pet play, plays such a comforting part for Harry. It's not of a sexual nature at all, it's about Draco giving something he needs, and getting something in return that Draco needs just as much. It's about trust, and understanding, and accepting oneself.

Of course, off the play they have some amazing, smoking hot sex. :D

But the story actually starts when Draco returns, and we learn Harry and Draco had a little something after the war. It wasn't anything formal, nor it was a steady thing, but it was important enough that neither forgot the other, and now that Draco's back, they do try to build something solid. It is very beautiful.

Title: Muggle 'Drug Store Items'

This is hilarious. Harry drags Draco to a Muggle drug store where he, Draco, discovers the joy of condoms. He finds out they are flavoured and it's so funny what with Harry about to have an aneurism right there on the contraception aisle. And naturally once he realised Harry's a bit mortified about the whole thing, he becomes downright impossible in the very best way. So much fun, this fic. :D

It's not only smoking hot, and boy, is it ever! But their relationship is beautiful. Harry's a bit nervous and Draco is wonderful, he's gentle and then it gets super intense, ah, it's just lovely all around. A perfect first time in an established relationship fic. :D

This story is so amazing, God. As the summary says, Harry comes home to find Draco's had an accident while creating a very powerful lusty Potion, and of course he accidentally gets dosed as well. He goes to find Draco, and yep, Draco's waiting and naked and he's wanking and it's pretty much the best thing ever to happen to Harry.

Only, aside from being insanely hot, there are so many beautiful insights in Harry and Draco's relationship, how perfect they are for each other, and even after years of being together, they are so madly in love.

This story is so good, oh my god, it's ridiculously good. It's written for the trope Friends with Benefits, but it starts with Harry being irritated about all things Malfoy.

You see, Ginny started dating Blaise, and with Blaise came his Slytherin friends and how Harry has to deal with Malfoy on regular basis. And he hates it. He hates that everybody likes Draco and he hates that Draco seems to be perfectly polite and hug people and kiss people on their cheeks when he greets them, everybody but Harry. Yeah, it's pretty annoying. ;):D

So Harry drinks, to cope with all that Malfoyness. And then this one night Harry's too drunk to Apparate on his own so Draco helps him and one thing leads to another and they sleep together. Yes, in that way, but also literally. ^^

And that's how the whole 'Friends with Benefits" thing started. But you know what, it's so much more than that. There's so much snark and then there's bickering and then flirting and all the UST in the world. And they are amazing and sexy, god, those sex scenes, delicious, utterly. It's fantastic, this fic, read it and see. You'll see!

Content/Warning(s): Canon divergence (AU) after OotP.

I cannot believe I hadn't recced this before, because it's really amazing and definitely one of my favourites.

It's an AU after Order of the Phoenix, in which Draco is a spy for the Order and starts training with Snape for when the time comes. It's not linear, because the story starts when the war is over and won and Draco's facing Lucius's death.

It has different POVs, and all brilliant. We got to see the development of Dean and Draco's friendship after the war (Dean is so, so awesome! But so is Seamus!), after Draco saved Dean and Seamus, we get Draco's POV and even Snape's POV. It's very complex and rich in characterisations.

The heart of it is, we learn that back when Harry and Draco were at Hogwarts, before the war broke, Lucius cast a spell on Harry that would trigger after his death. This spell would make Harry every evening to insult and abuse his friends (verbally) until exhaustion, and if left alone he'd be a danger to himself. Draco witnessed Lucius casting the spell, but during the war, and even after the war, dealing with the Ministry and the aftermath - because even though he was cleared as an ally of the Light, people still don't trust a Malfoy - he forgot, and it’s not until Dean mentions Harry's having a hard that he remembers, sees the effect of Lucius's curse first hand, and he's faced with a choice. He could break the spell, but he could also lose everything, for to break the spell he needs to make a Vow of Silence.

It's fantastic, this fic. The way Draco is there for Harry through these 'cursed' evenings, the way he see the story (past and present) unfold, the way Draco changes with time, friendships made, and Harry's growing need for Draco, it's all so very good, man! Read it if you haven't, and you know, if have, read it again because it's truly brilliant. :D

This fic, oh my god, it's epic! It was written for the trope Pretend Couple, and man, pretend dating they do!

It starts when Harry runs into Draco in Diagon Alley and sees first-hand Draco getting hexed and badly treated in this post-war world. They end up having drinks together at the Leaky and eventually they agree to have lunch together. One time becomes two and so on, until they are somewhat friendly.

Draco's been having a hard time, he's been trying to get into the Healer programme at St. Mungo's without success, he can't even get a job, and he has the brilliant idea that if he's seen dating Harry his stance in the Wizarding World would improve, so he asks Harry if he'd pretend to go out with him on a few dates. At first Harry isn't sure if this idea is going to work at all, but give in and they start "dating" only it completely escalates when the pretend dating doesn't make any difference in helping Draco how the public sees him. So then they don't only pretend to date, they pretend to move in together and actually—actually I don't think I should say more because you ought to read it.

It's so much fun, seeing them "pretending" while all the time it's obvious that their feelings for each other are genuine, there's sexual tension and smitten!Harry and, it's wonderful.

Two hundred pain receptors per square inch in the human body and it was nothing but background noise in the explosion, the revelation, that was Harry Potter’s body against his.

This fic is fantastic. It was written for the trope Denial, from Draco's POV, and it's about Harry and Draco and this thing they've been having for years and how Harry is ready to call it for what it is, a relationship. Only Draco is not there yet, he's, well, in denial about exactly everything Harry means to him, too.

It's so much more than that though, because through the beautiful writing you can see the way Draco feels about Harry, how he sees him, we get to see a bit how this whole thing started, how it's obvious so much more than Draco is letting on. It's brilliant, the ending is wonderful and just everything. :D

Title: Like a Virgin & sequel Like a Prayer

In the sequel, Harry and Draco do a little RPG, in which Harry is a ~Big Bad Auror~ and Draco is a suspect, ready to do anything to avoid Azkaban. Super hot! But I love that they are so obviously perfect together, too. :)
