Title: Pocket Full Of Starlight (Never Let It Fade Away)
Author:
femmequixotic &
noeon
Rating: NC 17
Word Count: 46,300 Approx.
Summary: When Scorpius Malfoy and Jamie Potter meet at Quidditch camp, they take an instant dislike to each other. Then they discover their lives are more connected than they could possibly imagine.
Warning(s): Mpreg.
This story is based on The Parent Trap (1998).
I haven't seen this movie, so it took me quite a while to read this story, and know it has quite a fanbase, and I'm a little late reading it and reccing it. :/
James Potter and Scorpius Malfoy are identical twins separated when they were babies. Years latter they meet at an international Quidditch camp and even though at first they don't like each other, eventually they put the pieces together and realise they are brothers.
But that's not all, they decided to switch places, and so when it's time to return home, Scorpius goes with Harry as James, and James goes with Draco as Scorpius.
And it's really amazing, how Harry and Draco perceive the differences in their boys, but not even imagining it's the other twin. And when the boys plan to get their parents together, after they are discovered, well, Harry and Draco have all these issues on their own that have to face, like the little fact they've been in love with each other, unable to forget one another all the time they've been apart.
It's really fantastic; Harry and Draco's feelings, how they arise in the other's presence; how sweet and slightly devious both James and Scorpius are; the delicious smut, the characterisations… It's simply wonderful.

Date: 2013-04-22 02:08 pm (UTC)Anyway, on this fic is all in past. The boys are 12 here, and the mpreg is mentioned in past tense, and even then there's nothing about the labour or the nursing. Just mention that Draco carried them.
At the end there's another bit, but the same, the whole wizard!pregnant is skipped and we only see a baby. And it's at the very end, a few lines, tops.
I think you can read it easily and not be squicked by the idea of mpreg at all. :D
Happy reading! It's really delightful.

Date: 2013-04-22 02:17 pm (UTC)I started reading it because, you know this already, I can't resist hurt!Harry. He is always so tempting. So I gave it a try. I've read most of it. The labour was difficult for me, so I was happy it wasn't that explicit, and the same goes for Harry's huge belly. :D The nursing was also okay, because Harry had some kind of depression and couldn't feed the baby properly. It was all about the hurt!Harry that kept me reading.
Anyway, I think I can read this one here. I love "The Parent Trap"!

Date: 2013-04-22 02:27 pm (UTC)Maybe I can come up with Hurt!Harry, mpreg fic that you'll like one day. :D But you know, a lot of mpreg aren't graphic about the labour or nursing. Still! Tell me if/when you're in the mood to experiment and I know of one you can start with. :D *pokes* With hurt!Harry included and everything.

I was correct with the author as well. (apologies if it is more graphic than I remember it being. You can never tell with frayach)
(really should get to writing now. just can't not-jump-in to mpreg discussion apparently)

This is a very sweet story, Harry is pregnant, the whole pregnancy and delivery aren't overly graphic, in fact, *checks* nope, not graphic at all, and Harry is hurt during the pregnancy -- a slight accident, and Draco is a Healer. You'll love it. It's so lovely.
And then, if you're really feeling brave, there's the one
Happy reading!

Date: 2013-04-22 07:35 pm (UTC)Yes, I know, I'm utterly behind reading my way through all the beautiful fics Drarry fandom has to offer. I neglected this fandom in favour of the Snarry fandom. Just recently I've re-discovered the Drarry fandom.

Date: 2013-04-23 04:30 pm (UTC)Well, turns out I was wrong. Apparently, I'm able to enjoy mpreg, at least if the pregnancy is difficult and angsty and we get a good portion of hurt!Harry. (After all - everyone knows this already - I can't resist him.)
Gods, this fic could easily be one of my most favorites. There were so many things I loved. How Harry gave birth to his child in such a brave yet very gory manner. Man, I admired his strength and will! When he collapsed in his office and Draco got all worried, I was squeeing and nibbling excitedly on my fingers. I so much wanted for Draco to be there for Harry.
When Harry had had his first real glance at his baby boy shortly before he gave him away. Oh.My.God. I'm not one who cries easily, but here I found myself fighting hard against the urge to cry my eyes out.
And then that scene, a year later, when Harry took his son out to the hedge maze, speaking to him in such a lovely, fatherly way. Again, holy damn! I lost the battle against my tears there. It was just so heartbreaking! Draco, when he broke Harry's heart completely, OMG! I so felt for him!
And we even got a glimpse at professional-hit-wizard!Harry. I didn't expect this!
This whole story was so amazing! I love everything! And yes, I can even deal with the mpreg. I've never thought I would say that! I even checked a few of the entries on that mpreg-fest comm in hope of finding a similar one. Any chance there is another one like that out there with Harry hiding his pregnancy?
Finally, I have to thank you for pointing this fic out to me! Thank you! I would have missed one of the most amazing fics I've had the pleasure to read.

Date: 2013-04-23 05:36 pm (UTC)I'm all for switching, but if I really had to chose I'd prefer top!Harry. But only if I really had to chose between the two. I do read and enjoy both top!Harry and top!Draco equally.

Date: 2013-04-23 05:50 pm (UTC)I usually can't read death fics in which Harry or Draco die. I just can't handle the sadness. I'm such a sucker for happy endings.
