Title: Pocket Full Of Starlight (Never Let It Fade Away)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] femmequixotic & [livejournal.com profile] noeon
Rating: NC 17
Word Count: 46,300 Approx.
Summary: When Scorpius Malfoy and Jamie Potter meet at Quidditch camp, they take an instant dislike to each other. Then they discover their lives are more connected than they could possibly imagine.
Warning(s): Mpreg.

This story is based on The Parent Trap (1998).

I haven't seen this movie, so it took me quite a while to read this story, and know it has quite a fanbase, and I'm a little late reading it and reccing it. :/

James Potter and Scorpius Malfoy are identical twins separated when they were babies. Years latter they meet at an international Quidditch camp and even though at first they don't like each other, eventually they put the pieces together and realise they are brothers.

But that's not all, they decided to switch places, and so when it's time to return home, Scorpius goes with Harry as James, and James goes with Draco as Scorpius.

And it's really amazing, how Harry and Draco perceive the differences in their boys, but not even imagining it's the other twin. And when the boys plan to get their parents together, after they are discovered, well, Harry and Draco have all these issues on their own that have to face, like the little fact they've been in love with each other, unable to forget one another all the time they've been apart.

It's really fantastic; Harry and Draco's feelings, how they arise in the other's presence; how sweet and slightly devious both James and Scorpius are; the delicious smut, the characterisations… It's simply wonderful.

OMG! OMG! This sounds so much like "Das doppelte Lottchen" and I went to Wiki, and YES, it is exactly that. I adore this movie to pieces. And here I really want to read this fic, but there is one thing that could be an obstacle: the mpreg. It's a concept I just can't really deal with if explicitly pictured like the pregnancy, the labor, the nursing. If the kids are older and the mpreg is only mentioned, it's fine. So, please tell me: Is the mpreg explicit here? Thank you!

Lol, maybe one of these days I will be converted, too. I actually try it from time to time. Just recently I've read a mpreg fic in which Harry carried the baby. Harry and Draco were in a nearly broken relationship, they fought all the time. Finally, they broke it up, and Draco punched Harry in the stomach without knowing he was pregnant.

I started reading it because, you know this already, I can't resist hurt!Harry. He is always so tempting. So I gave it a try. I've read most of it. The labour was difficult for me, so I was happy it wasn't that explicit, and the same goes for Harry's huge belly. :D The nursing was also okay, because Harry had some kind of depression and couldn't feed the baby properly. It was all about the hurt!Harry that kept me reading.

Anyway, I think I can read this one here. I love "The Parent Trap"!

check last years mpreg fest. I know there was one (by frayach maybe?) super angsty. H & D in past relationship, D leaves to marry Astoria, H still in love, has a baby for D since they can't...

Gah, *digs through links*

I was correct with the author as well. (apologies if it is more graphic than I remember it being. You can never tell with frayach)

(really should get to writing now. just can't not-jump-in to mpreg discussion apparently)

She is pretty much single-handedly the one who convinced me mpreg wasn't squicky. Reprise = ♥ (also ruruonihime's Delaney)

Hah, thank you! I have to admit I get a bit excited about all the promises of hurt!Harry. I have such a weakness for him. Yes, look at me. I'm so weak. :D

I will check these out. Hopefully in the next two days. :) I'll come back telling you how I liked these. (I even will check out the fic [livejournal.com profile] eidheann_writes pointed out. Even though the "gory mpreg birth" does scare me a bit. *shivers* I'll see how I handle this.

Are you familiar w frayach's work at all? She does... hardcore. Kink, angst, porn... pretty much everything she writes she makes you feel like whoa. But the other side of that is she doesnt shy away from anything. She's amazing, but does require a level of mental prep or at least knowig what you are getting into. But so so so worth it.

I've only ever read "Love, Like Hate, Knows Many Guises" by [livejournal.com profile] frayach, and I loved it even though it deals with a kink (ageplay) I'm not into that much. But it was handled so well, so understandingly, the characterizations were so fantastic, I couldn't help but find it superb.

Thanks for the warning, though. I will prepare myself for everything. :)

Oh god. Have you not read The Price We Pay For Wings? Lord you ... well no I don't know you well enough to sat you should beyond the general thought that it's a classic everyone should read. But its tissue count is measured in BOXES.

Actually, no I haven't. *blushes* I can only read sad fics when they have a happy ending. Does this fic have one?

Yes, I know, I'm utterly behind reading my way through all the beautiful fics Drarry fandom has to offer. I neglected this fandom in favour of the Snarry fandom. Just recently I've re-discovered the Drarry fandom.

I'm not entirely certain how to answer. It is epilogue compliant but ends h/d. The heartbreak is well warned from the beginning, but that only makes the hurt more poignant.

I read it when I was 8mo pregnant and even now just thinking about it makes me teary.

Nappies is lovely, but neither that nor take whats left are really for easing into mpreg. they are for diving in on something you worry might squick you but you want to see how lovely it can be. (She makes vomit-play lovely & loving. How the fuck does she do that?)

Okay, I was feeling brave this morning and read all the 23K words of "Take What's Left Of Me" in one go. I'm honest, I started reading that one first because it seemed to be the one out of the two I would like least.

Well, turns out I was wrong. Apparently, I'm able to enjoy mpreg, at least if the pregnancy is difficult and angsty and we get a good portion of hurt!Harry. (After all - everyone knows this already - I can't resist him.)

Gods, this fic could easily be one of my most favorites. There were so many things I loved. How Harry gave birth to his child in such a brave yet very gory manner. Man, I admired his strength and will! When he collapsed in his office and Draco got all worried, I was squeeing and nibbling excitedly on my fingers. I so much wanted for Draco to be there for Harry.

When Harry had had his first real glance at his baby boy shortly before he gave him away. Oh.My.God. I'm not one who cries easily, but here I found myself fighting hard against the urge to cry my eyes out.

And then that scene, a year later, when Harry took his son out to the hedge maze, speaking to him in such a lovely, fatherly way. Again, holy damn! I lost the battle against my tears there. It was just so heartbreaking! Draco, when he broke Harry's heart completely, OMG! I so felt for him!

And we even got a glimpse at professional-hit-wizard!Harry. I didn't expect this!

This whole story was so amazing! I love everything! And yes, I can even deal with the mpreg. I've never thought I would say that! I even checked a few of the entries on that mpreg-fest comm in hope of finding a similar one. Any chance there is another one like that out there with Harry hiding his pregnancy?

Finally, I have to thank you for pointing this fic out to me! Thank you! I would have missed one of the most amazing fics I've had the pleasure to read.

Yeah, and I'm not entirely certain why as from what I can tell people's top/bottom preference (for those who have them) are pretty evenly split.

I don't get this either. I mean, I can't even understand why one would prefer one always and forever topping the other without any switching.

Haha. That is something that comes around every so often. Best answer: it's a kink like any other. No difference between unable to resist hurt!Harry and being unable to resist bottom!Draco. It's the saying the opposite is gross/squicky/wrong that is sigh-worthy for anything.

(And I say that as someone who tends to prefer b!draco. I roll my eyes when I see people list t!draco as a squick that makes them physically ill. Which I see *a lot*)

I guess your theory is plausible.

I'm all for switching, but if I really had to chose I'd prefer top!Harry. But only if I really had to chose between the two. I do read and enjoy both top!Harry and top!Draco equally.

Lol, same here.

I usually can't read death fics in which Harry or Draco die. I just can't handle the sadness. I'm such a sucker for happy endings.

I've got to be in the right mood. But that is my feeling for most things. In prompts I usually list bashing,non-con,death, muggle au and severe ooc as my squicks. But really only ssevere bashing & ooc are actual hit-the-back-button squicks. The rest just need specific mood for.
