Summary: When the wife of a star politician in the Scottish Ministry turns up dead just outside Hogsmeade, Draco Malfoy and his murder investigation team are called in from the Edinburgh Auror force to find her killer. What DCI Malfoy doesn't expect, however, is to have an ex from two decades past end up in his murder room, cocking up not only his case, but also his heart.

God, this story, this story is so exciting, so amazing, intriguing and gripping.

It starts, as the summary says, with a murder which Draco and his team have to investigate. But as the victim is the wife of a promising politician the ministry see fit to send someone for London to oversee the investigation, which is none other than Harry Potter. And Harry and Draco have their own bit of history to deal with on top of their different views about who to conduct the investigation.

And it's amazing. I'm not kidding, there are wonderful characterisations, the mystery of the plot is fantastic, the sexual tension; the way they changed from the last time they saw each other and they see each other now, did I mention the sexual tension? It's pretty brilliant.

Hello flower! :D I removed this comment from the fic and put it here cos I looked at it and realised that really wasn't the place for it. And I loved it to bits, sooo much! i think it was probably my favourite this year, though I have said the same after several of them, so I'm not sure! LOLOOL!

Yeah, I've said, "this is my favourite" a few times because the fest has been so SO SO SO good. :D

I'm so happy you feel that way. I'm so happy people seem to have had such a great time, you know? Makes everything worth it. :D I mean, it always was worth it, but seeing the excitement and happiness and response I'm just like... BEAMING.

Well, in my opinion (a very humble one) Erised has possibly been the best fest this year. There have been amazing fics in other fests, I'm not taking anytihng away from anyone, but the quality of the fics here this year has been the most consistent I've seen. They are all brilliant, each better than the previous one, and I was floored more times that I can remember. But this one, yeah, i think it's my favourite, it was like Alex Cross meets Mystic River, you know. So so so good! And I had written such a good comment! It even sounded intelligent, which is unusual for me, and i suppose taht's why LJ decided to eat it. Can't have me making sense! LOLOLOL! I'm doomed to write awful comments! *grins*

You've done incredibly well. i hope you'll repeat this year, amor. (Gods, "this year!" D: D:D: )

It's the best! Besides all the others of which I thought they were the best. No, but seriously: That one is of an exceptional quality. A true masterpiece of a crime novel. Can't wait to get to know who wrote it!!!

May I ask a question? This sounds good, but one of my squicks about reading about them when they're older are things like receding hairlines, paunches, etc. (In other words, too much realism, ha!) Does this contain that sort of thing? A little grey in Harry's hair is okay, but that's about as far as I can go.

No paunches, and they are both very fit. There is a fleeting mention of a receding hairline maybe starting to show, once and doesn't detract from Draco's attractiveness and it's not in any way made a big deal of. I also hate those things, but I'm soo in love with that fic! READ IT, READ IT!! It's FANTASTIC!

Thank you so so much for recc'ing only now able to give the fest the time it deserves so lots of catching up to do ..

This was by far one of the most addictive stories I read in a long time just could not stop reading the story line the characterisation and I think you mentioned the UST once or twice lol .. Just one amazing piece of writing x
