Summary: She’d lowered her hand to pat his knee and said with heavy sympathy, “Oh Harry.” Harry thinks that pretty much sums things up.
The kink showcased here is "role-play as each other", but it's so intense, because they aren't playing a game at all, they didn't plan on it. They were arguing, and in this sort-of-impersonating each other, they start telling these truths of what they think, how they feel about the other, and all that anger or indifference they perceived as such, was rather the opposite.
