Title: A Defeat More Triumphant Than Victory
Author:
mk_malfoy
Rating: NC 17
Word Count: 23,000
Summary: Whilst Harry is en route to right a wrong, memories of the past five years and, more specifically, the past week assail him and remind him how this tragedy-in-the-making began. If only he had listened to Snape at the end of sixth year when he’d told Harry to keep his mouth shut and his mind closed.
Warning(s): language; attempted non-con; violence; dark; character deaths, but not Harry or Draco, and suicide
The summary, the author's note and the warnings make this story looks a lot more aggressive and dark than it is. I'm not saying that by any means it's a fluffy read. It's angsty, emotional and poignant, but it's not a story you should be afraid to get your hands into.
Someone has stolen the Elder Wand, putting Harry and his loved ones in danger. The events this unleash bring Harry back memories of two encounters he had with Draco, that in all honesty, he could never forget, and maybe it's time to face them.
It is a story about loss, but it's also about new beginnings too.
