This is an adaptation of Queer as Folk, but I'm going to tell right upfront; I have never seen a single episode of this show in my life.

However, this fic is outstanding on its own! Because it's a story. It's a story about people, their problems and how they face them, these issues they have. The way the war changed them and how they suffered and continue to suffer the consequences, but in such an emotional level. It's a story about growth, too. Because as it develops they have to face changes. Both Harry and Draco; they aren't perfect by a long shot, but in their own way are trying so hard to cope.

Draco's characterisation is beautiful. After this thing, fling, relationship, with Harry started he always knew where he stood with him. He didn't have any delusions, he dreamt and hoped, it's true, but he never became a deluded person living for someone else, which I absolutely loved.

And there's Harry, who for all he is and puts his friends and loved ones through, you will love him, too. You will try to understand him and see beyond what he's trying to show you.

The whole supporting cast is incredible. Ginny, Astoria, Hermione, Ron, Molly! Oh, Molly. No, seriously, all of them are lovely written.

And you know what else? The sex; good God, the sex is steamy, dirty, loving, hot, intense and so much more.

It's a journey, of two young men finding their way in the world, flawed, perfect and confused, but trying.

Summary: It’s expensive being a Dark Lord. Nearly everything you do, or want to do, costs money. What better way to gather funds than to force donations? Voldemort kept accounts of his spending. Not quite patient enough for Goblins and gold and vaults, he instead used the Muggle alternative. It seemed to be all Muggles were good for, because it meant that Wizards, and the Ministry in particular, would not get their hands on it. Just in case, the Dark Lord destroyed all records of his accounting, using something that was better than a safe, better than books. Only, no one knows what it was and, after five years, the money’s become a myth. Now a secret sector of the Ministry is after it and only a member of their own can stop them.


I love quick-paced stories, and this fic is like that, which is perfect, because it's an adaptation of Safe, a thriller.

This story feels like it too. But it has some original twist to Draco's characterisation (like him having eidetic memory), yet he's still one sneaky little Slytherin to the core. And there's Harry, smitten and playing protector. It's a really cool and entertaining read. It's got action, romance and a lovely ending.
