Title: Love, Like Hate, Knows Many Guises
Author:
frayach
Rating: NC 17
Word Count: 24,500
Summary: Both Harry and Draco are terrified of love, albeit for different reasons. Harry’s never been in love, but he’s seen enough of love’s dark side to know he never wants to be. Draco, on the other hand, has been in love, but that love nearly killed him. Eventually they find that only the other can help him imagine life – and love’s – infinite forms and possibilities.
Warning(s): Angst; Explicit Domestic & Sexual Violence (NOT H/D!); Off-Stage Child Abuse & Neglect; Implied Child Sexual Abuse; Infantilism.
This story is one of my new favourites. It comes with a series of warnings that are not to be dismissed. Seriously. But if you give this fic a chance you'll discover one of the most In Character Harry I've ever read.
Draco has been subjected to domestic abuse, and Harry, as an Auror was called to see the neighbours' complain. He decides to help Draco, really help him, but Harry carries a secret himself. One that no one could understand, not without knowing and accepting Harry, and Draco, at the moment is no shape to see beyond his own drama.
It's gorgeous, as violent and shocking as some parts are, it's a beautiful story of acceptance. I love it.
