Word Count: 51,500 Approx.
Summary: Upon returning for Eighth Year, there are so many strange things going on with Malfoy, Harry doesn’t know where to start. He won’t talk to Harry, but he’s talking to ghosts. He won’t apologize for his past, but the Black Family tapestry has crossed him off its tree. And the worst of it all, he still has that infuriating, snotty mouth on him that gets Harry’s dick hard as a rock drives Harry insane.

This is such a smoking hot fic! :D There's hung!Harry, which I looove. :D But there are a ton of awesome stuff going on. It start with Harry & Co returning to Hogwarts for their 8th Year, only Harry is very, very annoyed indeed because Draco has been ignoring him. He's not looking at him, he's not talking to him, and he didn't even reply the owl Harry sent along with his wand during summer. The nerve!

So that's the state of things when they are paired together for the year-long 8th Year project of re-building Hogwarts. Fun! *thumbs up!*

And that's not all, while they aren't roommates, they do share a bathroom, and of course they keep running into each other there. And of course one of those times is when Harry forgot to carry his towel to the shower. And of course he flashed Draco.

Anyway! Yeah, it's a lot of fun to see these on the verge of exploding into each other's faces, then Harry being obsessed with Draco all over again, seeing all that UST finally burst. :)

Summary: Harry’s not the kind of person who pays for sex. He really isn’t. Until he is.
Content/Warning(s): rentboy!Draco, mentions of dubious consent in connection with sex work (not between H/D)

This fic is so good. God, there's so much UST between Harry and Draco and yet there so much more than that.

The story starts with Harry walking back home one night and walking by the usual place he knows rentboys stands. He's full of guilt at even doing this, you see, he's desperately trying to convince himself he's not doing anything wrong—and that's when he see Draco standing under a street lamp.

And Draco sees Harry watching. They talk briefly and though Harry follows his way home he can't stop thinking about Draco. Let me tell you, the description of Draco here is gorgeous. Soon after Harry is again walking down the street when someone calls him – he's wearing his Auror uniform – to help with this disturbance in this flat. It's Draco and he's being attacked. Harry reacts, at seeing someone touching Draco and one thing leads to another and Draco ends up staying at Grimmauld Place with Harry for the night.

Only, of course, of course it's not just something simple. For starters Harry is going crazy with want, and god, Draco does not make it easy for Harry, and then Grimmauld Place, which always felt unfriendly and cold towards Harry starts. . . like, feeling happy that Draco's around. ^^

But again, there's so much more than that. Harry goes from being in ~denial about his sexuality, to admitting it, to say it out loud and to act. And this journey is amazing. So is all that UST between Harry and Draco let me tell you!

The Sleeping Beauty Curse by who_la_hoop

Word Count: 153,000 Approx.
Summary: When Draco Malfoy falls into a cursed sleep and can only be woken – at least, according to the Daily Prophet, that impeccable source of truth – by ‘true love’s kiss’, Harry Potter knows there’s no way on earth he’s the answer to this particular riddle. Is he . . .?
Content/Warning(s): bonding!fic

This fic is amazing! As the title and summary tells you, Draco has been cursed to sleep until – according to the Daily Prophet – his one true love kisses him awake.

The problem is that it's six weeks and counting and Draco is not waken up by any kisses. And so Blaise, the Unspeakable in charge of this case, asks Harry, Ron and Hermione to kiss Draco.

Surely nothing wrong is going to happen, yeah? I mean, come on. Only, to Harry's horror, Draco totally wakes him up when he kisses. And let me tell you, his reaction is hilarious!!!!! Harry's reaction, I mean! :D

But that's not all, not only Draco woke up, in a confusing turns of events, they end up bonded. As in in the middle of a marriage bond, and they can't access their magic unless they either complete the bond (you know what that means, right?) or they are touching. YAY!

And so Harry and Draco are suddenly married and living together only they aren't really, right? It's as awesome and as fun as it sounds, trust me; watching these two try to be civil, but still bickering, seeing that UST growing, sleeping together, then sleeping together without fulfilling the bond—and well, falling in love. :D

Summary: Harry never expected he’d end up chipping away at his virginity while wandless and bonded to Malfoy in Northern Europe. // He never expected that would turn out to be the least surprising thing to happen while out on their training expedition in the middle of nowhere, either.
Content/Warning(s): bonding!fic

This fic, oh my god, this fic! It's Harry and Draco trainee Auror partners, who just so happen to be attracted to each other, and who are about to go in an training exercise wandless and bound to each other, so you know it's going to be awesome.

But wait! There's more! The thing, just before this trip Harry and Draco had a ~moment. Okay, they went out for drinks and Harry kissed him and of course things got awkward and they had been getting along so well, you see, but now they aren't quite talking. Only obviously they have to talk in this mission, and the beautiful thing is, they actually do talk. Harry says he didn't regret kissing him and Draco said he surprised him and, well, things are a bit less tense but it's full of sexual tension. And then they share a bed AND well things get really interesting.

One of the things I loved the most is seeing Harry and Draco like this. They are honest with each other, they haven't forgotten who they are, or who they were, but they are growing, they accept the people who were, the mistakes they made and have learnt from them.

There's of course the ~issue~ of Harry's virginity which, as the summary says, he's been chipping away as the trip progress. But there's more than that, too, because this bond was a last-minute addition, and it's very suspicious of both the bond caster – a foreign specialist, and the instructor, who hates Draco and practically gave them no choice but to accept it.

It's interesting and amazing, funny and sexy, seeing them getting to know each other even better, seeing them experiment and admit their feelings and finally build something real. Most awesome.

Changing Tides by carpemermaid

Title: Changing Tides
Author: [personal profile] carpemermaid
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 110,000 Approx.
Summary: Draco has spent half of his life spouting the things his father has taught him without much thought about how he feels about what he says. When he unexpectedly comes face to face with the Dark Lord, he grapples with the harsh realities of the world and struggles with his changing views on life. Instead of doing what’s expected of him fifth year, he joins Dumbledore’s Army and learns how to defend himself, how to make his own choices, and how he can be something greater than his father’s example as he grows into his own man rather than his father’s shadow. The choices he makes change both his and Harry’s fates, intertwining their paths until they converge.
Content/Warning(s): Elements of Magical AU/Canon divergence (5th year AU).

This is such a beautiful, complex story. It's slightly AU, in which, as the summary says, Draco joins Dumbledore's Army to learn to defend himself, and this decision changed Draco's life so much, and that's one of the many awesome things about this story. It shows us exactly how. We see Draco in Fifth Year, learning these spells, watching Harry, seeing a different side of him, interacting and while not everything is completely different, enough it is that Harry and Draco had the foundation for an amazing friendship that they cultivate way after the war.

We see Draco seeing Harry being so happy in the DA, sees him again at his best when he encourages Harry to reform the DA again and more than that for it to become a club where students can practice and learn.

Then they join the Auror academy and ultimate become partners, but through all these there's this amazing friendship and chemistry—something that had started back in Hogwarts grow.

And we see both POVs, too! Harry, through the story see him grow and learn more about his heritage, discover it, sort of, and feel like he belongs, learning costumes and sharing them with his friends, with Draco. It's a journey, from them being young and living through so much to finding each other and happiness. Amazing!

Summary: When Harry and Draco discover they’ve been bonded to one another, neither one of them is prepared for the secrets they begin to uncover. // They learn that they can’t escape their past, or the things that have been left hidden there, and that sometimes the only way to move forward is to look back.
Content/Warning(s): bonding!fic

bonding!Fic is awesome! This fic starts just as Harry and his unlikely Auror Partner one Blaise Zabini are sent in a very, very boring mission to monitor an old Muggle building, but the thing, just as Harry is there, out of the blue he feels sick and passes out.

Of course nothing is just simple when it comes to Harry, is it. His Healer informs him she's found traces of a bonding spell in Harry that had been doormat all this time. The nature of the bond is a mystery, but pretty soon we learn that, yes, Harry is bound to Draco, as soon as Blaise mentions Draco Harry feels the urge to go to him.

Eventually they discover they've started to share dreams, only to realise they aren't dreams, they are remembering things. . . It's a mystery to solve, all the time Harry and Draco can't be apart, and of course neither make it easy for the other, at the beginning, but soon they see each other under a different light as they try to unravel how they got bonded all those years ago, and what the dreams of them interacting at Hogwarts mean. Super cool fic, beautiful trio dynamic and rich characterisations. :)

The Claiming of Grimmauld Place by bixgirl1

Title: The Claiming of Grimmauld Place
Author: [personal profile] bixgirl1
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 74,200 Approx.
Summary: When Grimmauld Place begins fighting against Harry’s ownership of it, he decides he needs help to train the historic home — but little does he expect that it’ll be Malfoy who’s most suitable for the challenge. However, as Malfoy and Harry get closer, Harry comes to understand that expectations aren’t always the best path by which to guide his heart — and in the process learns just what is needed to make a house a home.

This story is gorgeous! It's got one of my favourite tropes: Harry/Draco housemates! :) As the summary says, Grimmauld Place has been fighting Harry, it's not letting him into some rooms (oh god, the bathroom among other places) so Harry's looking for a housemate who has experience in generational wizarding homes. Enters Draco Malfoy (after a few other interviews that were hilarious btw), who is, of course, a perfect candidate.

And that's how Harry and Draco (and Draco's improbable exotic pet!!!) start living together. At first the house starts behaving just with Draco's presence but the problem is, the problem for Harry is that Draco's never around, you know? Where does he go? ;) So he demands that Draco starts giving him lessons in how to grace himself to his house. Naturally sparks start to fly, but it's a bit complicated because they are living together, though that doesn't quite stop them, but then Draco's not ready to have the sort of relationship Harry wants to have—and there's the mystery of where Draco spends all his time when he's not in the house.

There are so many beautiful interactions, the characterisations are awesome, Ron is fantastic, but there's also Luna and Ginny and Pansy and Hermione and Gregg, the exotic pets I mentioned, Harry and Draco's growing feelings for each other, Grimmauld Place slowly accepting Harry, it's an incredible story! :)

Summary: Harry and Draco are sent on an undercover assignment to catch a Dark wizard — which might not be so bad if it weren't at a Muggle nudist resort. // Now Draco has to deal with a very interested Harry, temptation he's long-since learned to ignore, and threats around every corner — including the one to his heart.

Oh my god, this story is so, so good! It's amazing, really! It's not just fun, and you can imagine just how much fun it's going to be reading Harry and Draco going undercover to a Muggle nudist resort and pose as newlyweds, but it's more so because Harry and Draco have all these. . . ~vibes between them! I don't know how to describe it. They work really well together, but in the story we learn that they are incredibly attracted to each other, and they know it. In fact, they've been sort of fighting against it and now they have this assignment and—well.

One of the things that is so good about this fic is the characterisations; Harry is so charming and confident, and it's awesome, but so is Draco. And they are at this impasse, in which Harry is completely open about wanting Harry and Draco is completely open about trying to resist him. \o/

And then there's the plot, which is super intriguing and gripping and it seems they are spies and conspiracies everywhere. It's super exciting seeing them work together and at the same time work out their feelings for each other. Yeah, pretty damn brilliant. :)

Summary: And thus began the very strange circumstance of their fake dating in public and real fucking in absolute secret. It was, with no comparison, the weirdest relationship Draco had ever been in – which was to say, it wasn't one.

This story is simply gorgeous. It's a fake relationship fic but only it's a little different. The thing is, Draco and Harry come to an arrangement to pretend they are dating, but only after a bit they start fucking, but that's in private, you see. So they are pretending to date to the rest of the world, but are sort of together in private. :D

Of course, it's supposed to be a friends with benefit kind of arrangement, too, but as proven earlier, nothing is simple when it comes to these two. They are brilliant together, they have an incredible connection and chemistry, yet they have troubles communicating, actually telling each other what they are feeling.

And it's gorgeous, because Draco goes through this whole transformation, from someone trying to hide to someone ready to be happy, makes friends in the way that he didn't expect (trust me, Ron is amazing here!) and with a bit of a nudge he just might get everything he wanted.

It's really a journey, and it's beautiful. :)

Summary: When Harry sustains an injury in the line of work, he no longer knows how to navigate the life he loved, and finds help and solace from the most unexpected source.
Content/Warning(s): Physical disability, angst, depression, anger, healing, hurt/comfort, Auror Harry, Healer Draco, dubious medical ethics, romance, domesticity, falling in love, EWE, anal fingering, anal sex, rimming, bottoming from the top, oral sex.

This story is fantastic. Seriously. It's incredibly touching and beautiful. As the summary says, Harry is injured during an Auror raid and now the life he loved, the life he enjoyed, the life he dreamt for himself is no longer possible, at least that's what he thinks.

He sinks in to a deep depression and Hermione, desperate to help, seeks Draco, who is now a Healer with also a Muggle degree who specialises in physiotherapy, and he's the best, so really, it is Harry's best and last chance.

Harry doesn't take this news -- that Draco is his new doctor and will be moving in for the duration of his treatment -- very well. Well, that's an understatement. But really, Draco is the best, and soon Harry's progress start to show and little by little they work together, toward maybe giving Harry his life back, to Harry finding himself again.

But of course isn't easy, because it's them, they have a whole history and they fall in love, which is, at the same time amazing and complicated.

It's truly a journey, not just Harry's physical recovery, but also realising he can be and is loved, that he doesn't have to do things alone, that people want to be there for him and it's OK to let them, to forgive them and most important to forgive himself. And Draco, falling in love with this amazing man and being scared of what it means, afraid of all the unethical reasons why their relationship might not work. It's gorgeous, really.

This is a really amazing fic. The story starts the day Draco arrives to Ireland, to the house Harry's been living for the last few years along with other people, to do his Potion mastery. Harry does not react well. ^^ And he's even less thrilled to find out they are going to share a room. There's a lot of antagonism at the beginning, but eventually they start being able to be civil and then get to know each other. There's the physical attraction, which they are both fighting, but while all this is happening they are still dealing with trauma from the war, which makes it even more difficult for them to leave the past behind.

It's incredibly touching though, so many beautiful moment of them dealing with war trauma, slow burn with a lot of sexual tension (eventually resolved) and they working through their issues. Truly awesome. :)

Rating: R
Word Count: 131,200 Approx.
Summary: Seven years out from the war, Harry learns the hard truth of old history: it’s never quite as far behind you as you thought.

This story is simply gorgeous. It's beautiful and Harry and Draco's characterisations are amazing.

The story starts when a very distressed Kreacher shows up crying that Grimmauld Place and its new Master are being attacked. Harry had sold Grimmauld Place after the war, unknowingly to him, Draco had bought it and turned it into The Modern Museum of Wizarding History, and now that it's been attacked (along with Draco), Harry as the previous master of the house is called for aid. Being an Auror of course he goes to help, but the attackers escape and now he has to deal with Draco and some children who were visiting the Museum for the day.

That's how it starts, but, god, there's so much more than that, because Harry is really unhappy, he thinks he's doing OK but slowly starts realising how unhappy he truly is, how much more he could have, and Draco starts being there for him, because the attacks continue on Grimmauld Place and Draco, and Harry protects them, then slowly realising all these feelings he has for Draco (so, so slowly and then all of the sudden and—) and it's gorgeous, truly, this journey of discovery, this journey to happiness. And again, the characterisations are so rich and fun and deep, of Harry and Draco, Ron and Hermione, Blaise, Pansy, even Kreacher. It's amazing, this story.

Harry Potter and the Future He Doesn't Really Want, Thanks by Seefin

Title: Harry Potter and the Future He Doesn't Really Want, Thanks.
Author: faviconSeefin
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 70,000 Approx.
Summary: It was addictive, the feeling of Draco Malfoy telling him things in a soft voice early in the morning. Harry felt like he was taming a wild animal, or petting a cat that hated everybody else. This train existed outside of time, that was the only explanation Harry could come up with as to why Malfoy was actually having a civil conversation with him right now.
Content/Warning(s): Modern Era

This story has such a cool premise. It's rather effing brilliant, actually. Right after the war Harry starts having these dreams, visions of the future. Not in the 'you shall kill a Dark Lord' sort of way, just very vivid dreams that are in fact showing him the future. Sometimes it's little things, other times involve some of his friends, often it's something it's going to happen to him, and if that's not weird enough, his latest dream showed him a vision of him and Draco Malfoy being a couple, obviously in love, living together, such a sweet vision, so naturally he wakes up freaking out and freaks some more to Luna (his roommate, or rather he's staying in her couch) and Neville (sleeping with Luna). :D

He doesn't want that future. It's not that he hates Draco. He sort of ~nothing Draco, but it's still Malfoy, so it's enough reason for him to be utterly unsettled, so of course he runs into Draco right after having that first dream. :D It's rather brilliant, I'm telling you. He keeps running into Draco all over the city—Draco's been sentenced to leave the wizarding world so he's living amongst Muggles and he's really trying and, you know, I'm going to share one of my favourite quotes:

He knew, then, that Malfoy had changed, or would change, or was in the process of changing.

Harry knew, with the same surety, that he wanted to be there for it. He wanted to watch as Malfoy unfolded himself and shook out the parts that were cruel and mean and hateful. He wanted to watch for the moment when Malfoy’s limbs and heart and brain and muscles moved in a way that wasn’t heavy with unease and anger. He wanted to see a thousand more easy smiles on Malfoy’s face, it wouldn’t even matter if he hadn’t put them there himself. He wanted to see Malfoy bloom with laughter.

Slow burn and amazing. :)

Summary: Harry doesn’t mind that so many Slytherins from his year have returned to finish their NEWTs, really he doesn’t. It’s just – do they have to be so friendly? He’s not prejudiced, really he’s not. It’s just – they’ve got to be up to something, right? Unnerved by the attention he’s attracting from everyone – the Slytherins are the least of it, to be fair – and struggling with a raft of changes to Hogwarts itself, Harry wishes he could be happy that one constant remains: Draco Malfoy really fucking hates him.

When he’s hit by an illegal love-spell though, Harry finds he has more to worry about than whether or not Blaise Zabini actually wants to be his friend. For if everyone affected has been blessed – or cursed, by the look on Malfoy’s face – with a magical tattoo revealing the name of their soulmate, what does it mean that Harry’s skin remains completely bare?

Ohh, this fic! :D It's slow-burn like you hear about it! But there's a lot, a lot of interactions between Harry and Draco because for starters, McGonagal, to promote inter-house unity decides to mix Gryffindor and Slytherin and Harry ends up, yep, a Slytherin, rooming with Draco and Blaise (Blaise is absolutely brilliant!), Greg (also so cool), and Nott (also—you know the characterisations in general in this fic are pretty damn fantastic). But more so, Harry's wildly popular. Imagine Harry's worst nightmare popularity-wise post war, and there's this reporter, in an attempt to write the story of his life decides to cast a soulmark spell on Harry and find our who is his, you know, destined soul-bound person. You know what I mean. ^^

Only the spells hits also Draco and Ron and Hermione and they all get their soul-mate's names written in their bodies. And let me tell you, Draco is so not very thrilled when the name that appears on his chest is Harry's. But wait! That's not all, Harry—poor dear Harry, he doesn't have a name written anywhere, which is pretty distressing because, doesn't Harry get to be happy and have a soulmate?

So then they try to find a counter-spell while Harry deals with not having a soulmark while falling in love with Draco, basically, only he's in total denial on that one. ;) It's so super!

Headlights in the Snow is Saras_girl's 2016 Advent, and it follows the 25 days leading to Christmas. It starts in George's stag party, when Harry's a little drunk and the whole group takes the Knight Bus and Harry's absolutely certain – or as certain as he can be, as he is a little drunk – that Draco is the one driving the bus. No one else seems to notice, but of course Harry does.

Obviously his curiosity gets the better of him and hails the bus to investigate further, and yes, it was Draco Malfoy driving the bus all right. :D And so Harry's in for an adventure, discovering what Draco has been up to, the strange and amazing routine he has with a wonderful (utterly wonderful) group of old ladies who have made the Knight Bus their home (not literally, but think of the bus as their daily social club meeting place, which is indeed what it is) and ultimately falling in love. It's a journey in more ways than one and absolutely lovely and magical. :)

Summary: Everyone always forgets about the Merpeople. So did Harry until the day his, Lee’s, and Hermione’s Portkeys land at Reagan National Airport’s Arrivals dais. He’s just had to leave a job he loves and pack his entire life—literally—into his luggage. Then Malfoy and his subplots arrive, and suddenly, saving the world again, one Mermaid at a time, sounds like the perfect excuse to do something he’s always wanted.

This fic is super interesting! It's about how Muggles have been contaminating the waters and basically destroying the Merepeople's habitat.

Harry and Draco come into the picture because, both, blackmailed by the Miniter for Magic, are asked to go to USA to fix the problem. Draco is a Potions Master and Harry is a field chemist who especialices in water.

In the meantime we get to learn a few things about Harry and Draco. A) Harry and Draco had been friendly for quite a while back home. Harry often visiting Draco at Hogwarts where he teaches Potions, thing that stopped once Harry realised he had feelings for Draco, and B) That, related to A, Harry's been pining for Draco for years, basically. :D

The plot is very clever, we get to see everything they do to save the Mers (Harry and Draco each brought a team with them), and try to discover why the Minister wanted them (Harry & Draco) out of the picture back home, there are also some pretty brilliant interaction between Harry and Draco, the team, Draco's American cousin (who is super, too!).

This fic is just so exciting. It's a case!fic, and the plot is super! As the summary says, it starts when Harry requests helps from the Beast Division because there's been attacks in London and it's clearly a creature, and Malfoy is the liaison they sent.

And oh my god, they do not get along at all, but Draco proves to be super efficient and even though he's a pain in Harry's bum he's extremely helpful. However, some people at the ministry (the Head of Draco's department among many) are still very prejudiced, and soon start to wonder if maybe Draco's being so efficient because he's hiding something. Harry knows it's not the case, he's seen Draco's work and though it's not easy working with him, he trusts him. Along the way, well, there's attraction (very nice slow-build), which they fight and even ignore, the case becomes more complicated what with people suspecting Draco. It's really, really interesting and exciting, awesome characterisations of Harry (he's such a great Auror) and Draco (smart, efficient Draco!). :)

Harry threw himself to a halt and yelled, “Merlin, how many times do I have to save your life?”

This story, oh my god, so amazing! I can't believe it took me this long to find it and read it! It's basically about a dragon. Not just a dragon, the dragon Harry, Ron and Hermione rode in their escape from Gringotts.

It's almost one year after the war and the dragon has been roaming all over the country. Harry feels responsible for the creature and goes looking for it. What he didn't expect to find was Draco with the dragon, who is also on the run, by the way. Erm, Draco that is.

Of course Harry is immediately intrigued. What is Draco Malfoy doing with the dragon?

Well, it turns out he's been taking care of her. As in, protecting her and feeing her and basically keeping her safe. You remember the dragon was sick, traumatised and basically abused living all those years underground in Gringotts, right? She was in bad shape, and Draco's been taking care of her. Naturally Harry wants to get involved, and Draco, though none too happy about it, reluctantly agrees to let Harry see the dragon.

I'm going to move fast-forward to: eventually they start sleeping together, and it's just such a mess because they are the absolute worst to communicate. They fight and argue and bicker all the time. And then there are all the legal problems they face: Draco (and his family – also on the run) aren't cleared, the dragon is wanted by the Ministry, Draco is super attached to his illegal dragon, and Harry is confused and super attached to Draco.

But it's so much more than that, because they are living with the trauma of the war, there's a sense of hurt/comfort in so many relationships (Harry has so many people living with him at Grimmauld Place), Bi!Harry, the characterisations in the story are amazing, like, omfg, truly amazing, and then there are all the feels. Awesome fic.

A Thousand Beautiful Things by geoviki

Word Count: 104,000 Approx.
Summary: Draco Malfoy struggles with changed fortunes, shifted alliances, an ugly war, and an unusual spell, with the help of a concerned professor, an insightful house-elf, and an unexpected Gryffindor friend.
Content/Warning(s): Canon divergence (AU) after OotP.

I cannot believe I hadn't recced this before, because it's really amazing and definitely one of my favourites.

It's an AU after Order of the Phoenix, in which Draco is a spy for the Order and starts training with Snape for when the time comes. It's not linear, because the story starts when the war is over and won and Draco's facing Lucius's death.

It has different POVs, and all brilliant. We got to see the development of Dean and Draco's friendship after the war (Dean is so, so awesome! But so is Seamus!), after Draco saved Dean and Seamus, we get Draco's POV and even Snape's POV. It's very complex and rich in characterisations.

The heart of it is, we learn that back when Harry and Draco were at Hogwarts, before the war broke, Lucius cast a spell on Harry that would trigger after his death. This spell would make Harry every evening to insult and abuse his friends (verbally) until exhaustion, and if left alone he'd be a danger to himself. Draco witnessed Lucius casting the spell, but during the war, and even after the war, dealing with the Ministry and the aftermath - because even though he was cleared as an ally of the Light, people still don't trust a Malfoy - he forgot, and it’s not until Dean mentions Harry's having a hard that he remembers, sees the effect of Lucius's curse first hand, and he's faced with a choice. He could break the spell, but he could also lose everything, for to break the spell he needs to make a Vow of Silence.

It's fantastic, this fic. The way Draco is there for Harry through these 'cursed' evenings, the way he see the story (past and present) unfold, the way Draco changes with time, friendships made, and Harry's growing need for Draco, it's all so very good, man! Read it if you haven't, and you know, if have, read it again because it's truly brilliant. :D

Tagged both War!Fic and EWE because it jumps in time)

Stately Homes of Wiltshire by waspabi

Summary: Malfoy Manor has mould, dry rot and an infestation of unusually historical poltergeists. Harry Potter is on the case.

Such a fantastic story this is. It's fun, entertaining, super interesting and it has some amazing characterisations of – damn, everybody, really. I'm not kidding!

It has gorgeous characterisations of Draco, who is trying to very hard to salvage his Manor from decay while at the same time dealing with all sorts of poltergeists and with a (at first) reluctant Auror detail tailing him to monitor any potential Dark activity. An Auror detail who is completely (unwillingly and unaware at first) smitten with Draco. Of course I'm talking about Harry. :D And Harry has such a lovely characterisation, too.

This is the sort of story that pulls you in and those 57K fly by because you don't want to stop reading it. There's plenty of bantering and bickering, too, lovely scenes with Ron and Hermione (they rock, really), Pansy and Greg (who also rock). And then there's the plot itself, that shows you what the Manor meant to Draco, during the war, what it means to him to be in charge, and there's more, there's Harry's conflicted feelings about his job, and all through his Harry and Draco are so them. Definitely an instant favourite. :)
