A Hard Bargain (Or How Draco Malfoy was Ripped-Off) by valinorean

Title: A Hard Bargain (Or How Draco Malfoy was Ripped-Off) or at AO3
Author: [livejournal.com profile] valinorean
Rating: NC 17
Word Count: 6,500 Approx.
Summary: Never trust in the god of love. He is a swindler and cheat. But sometimes the trouble is worth the price.

Some stories leave you with a big smile on your face, and this is one of those.

Draco's Auror partner is leaving the force to teach at Hogwarts, and now he's stuck working with Harry. And the problem is not that they don't work well together, they do, too well, actually, if a bit chaotically. The problem has nothing to do with the job and everything to do with their feelings, those both Harry and Draco are trying to repress (though apparently not fooling anyone) and how finally -- well, I'm not going to spoil it for you, but it's wonderful.

It's sweet, fun and sexy, and there are little snippets that give the title a brilliant meaning. It's lovely.

Before I Wake by aj_socks

Title: Before I Wake
Author: [livejournal.com profile] aj_socks
Rating: R
Word Count: 14,400 approx.
Summary: In an alternate ending to Deathly Hallows, Draco defects during the last battle and tries to help Harry by finding the diadem horcrux. Instead, he ends up injured and wakes up as a ghost that only Harry can see.

As the summary says, this is an alternate ending to DH, in which Draco was injured and declared brain dead, but he showed up at Hogwarts, only no one but Harry can see him or touch him. Naturally, he can't keep off Harry's hair. Kind of like it was when he was alive. ^^

But really, it's very lovely; Draco's loneliness and insolation in that ghost-like state, Harry trying to help him, figure out what is happening, Draco's fear to die, to fade away, and how they grow closer, yet afraid Draco won't remember those moments if he ever wakes up.

Very sweet, I liked Draco's characterisation, and he does make one cranky ghost, one that you'll love to read.

A Series of Unfortunate Events (Or Not) by plotting_pen

Title: A Series of Unfortunate Events (Or Not) or at AO3
Author: [livejournal.com profile] plotting_pen
Rating: NC 17
Word Count: 25,300 Approx.
Summary: Harry Potter has a tendency to pop up whenever Draco's in trouble. Draco's not sure if he hates it as much as he'd like.

Oh, God. The hilarity of this story is incredible! But it's more than that, it's smoking hot, too! It's the fic that gives and gives because in nearly every part there's some hot smut and some amazing situation in which Draco is in dire need of a saviour.

That's right, Draco's life is in constant mortal peril, and Harry always shows up in the nick of time to rescue him with most gratifying rewards.

Hot (so hot), sweet (so sweet) and super funny (omg!!), it's going to make you laugh all the way. It's making me laugh just remembering it. :D

This is going to be my last rec for ten days or so. I'll be away, but I'll add the authors to the fest fics as soon as I come back. Happy reading! <3
