Title: Before I Wake

Rating: R
Word Count: 14,400 approx.
Summary: In an alternate ending to Deathly Hallows, Draco defects during the last battle and tries to help Harry by finding the diadem horcrux. Instead, he ends up injured and wakes up as a ghost that only Harry can see.
As the summary says, this is an alternate ending to DH, in which Draco was injured and declared brain dead, but he showed up at Hogwarts, only no one but Harry can see him or touch him. Naturally, he can't keep off Harry's hair. Kind of like it was when he was alive. ^^
But really, it's very lovely; Draco's loneliness and insolation in that ghost-like state, Harry trying to help him, figure out what is happening, Draco's fear to die, to fade away, and how they grow closer, yet afraid Draco won't remember those moments if he ever wakes up.
Very sweet, I liked Draco's characterisation, and he does make one cranky ghost, one that you'll love to read.
