Between Two Fires of Beltane by secretsalex

Title: Between Two Fires of Beltane

Rating: NC 17
Word Count: 5,000 Approx.
Summary: As the war drags on, Draco becomes a spy for Voldemort and works his way into Harry’s good graces—and his bed. When the Order prepares to invade Malfoy Manor, Draco is forced to examine his loyalties.

Draco is a spy, not for the Order but for Voldemort. War fics are always so tragic, and so it's this fic, because you can't see a happy ending, but you want it, you want it badly.

I liked the ambiguity of it, Draco living two lives. And Harry's dirty mouth, there's that too.

World's Edge & sequel by rurounihime

Title: World's Edge
Author: [livejournal.com profile] rurounihime
Rating: R
Word Count: 21,000 Approx. Adding both parts.
Summary: In the harshest environment on earth, Harry finds that escaping is harder than simply running. // In which it is dark, there is a visit, and a decision is made.

This is one of the most touching stories I've ever read. I did a while back and I re read it just now and it touched me deeply all over again.

In the first part World's Edge, Harry is in Antarctica, with Draco, but Harry is not there to just study the penguins. He's mourning the death of his daughter (though it's not an Epilogue compliant story), and he's there running, running from life, hiding away in his own pain.

And Draco wants to help, yet he's not (just) pushing Harry, he wants Harry to know he's there with him, for him. But Harry is so filled with guilt and despair that he can't see beyond his own sorrow. Until slowly, Harry opens up to Draco, not with words, but actions.

The second part is Three Vignettes After the Edge, one of these from Ginny's POV, and I promise you, it has the best insight into her character I've ever read.

They are lovely, too, all three, because there's hope, because Harry no just alive, but living.

Hurt/Comfort at its finest.
